Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
-For Katy, who not only convinced me to post this, but also who is Queen of All Things Weasley, including Bill/Fleur. Hope I didn't butcher them too badly!! Oh, and I'm sorry for the butterfly metaphor, really, I am. I swear I'll understand if you want to quote ET at me for the next ten weeks. I swear, I will. :D-
Fleur Delacour does not belong here.
Does not belong in this world of ugliness and pain, does not belong in this ugly little place that's so far beneath her, it doesn't have a prayer of holding her.
She's a butterfly in a milk carton, white lace on the sawed off table. She's a beautiful antique in a junk store, that touch of elegance that just doesn't fit. She's not of this world and Bill can't even begin to imagine why she would stay here in this ugliness with him when she could have so much more. He can't even begin to be thankful that she's decided to stay with him, that somewhere in this ugliness she's found enough beauty to hold her through.
Fleur is his beauty--she's the anchor that keeps him from saying "fuck it all" and giving up and giving in because this world is so, so broken and he's tired of picking up the pieces, tired of trying to fix it. Fleur gives him just enough smiles to make it through to tomorrow and he is so, so thankful.
He asks her once, why she stays here, and her smile is sad and sweet and she shakes her head, pressing her cool hands to either side of his face.
"Oh Beel, my Beel," she says softly. "'Ou are why I stay 'ere in zis nastee place. I 'ave nowhere else to go to."
And she lifts her shoulders in a dainty little shrug and kisses the corner of his mouth.
"I love you," she says. "And zat is why I stay 'ere. Because I find ze beauty in your eyes."
Bill kisses her cheek and closes his eyes and is so thankful for this piece of beautiful he's been given. She loves him just was much as he loves her and they'll be each other's beautiful to hold through this ugliness.
Thanks for reading!
