No good can come of dallying about it, someone hissed in his ear. A very annoying someone. Just grit your teeth and do it.
"All right," Scorpius hissed. Both his parents looked up from what they were doing. The Malfoys were gathered in the drawing room--Scorpius was finishing some homework, his father was reading the Prophet, and his mother was absorbed in some Muggle mystery.
"Did you say something, dear?" she asked.
"No," he lied innocently. "But… but I do have something to say." They looked at him expectantly, and, before he could make a conscious decision to actually say the words, the just… tumbled out. "I-- I'm gay. And I'm dating Al-- Al Potter."
There was silence.
"Oh no," his father groaned. "Oh no, you're not."
"Er, yes I am."
"Draco," Astoria said threateningly. "We've talked about this."
"Dad? Are you-- are you mad?" Scorpius asked timidly.
"Mad? For the love of Merlin, of course I'm mad!" Were those tears in his eyes? "There are six hundred students in that school, Scorpius! Five hundred and ninety-three of them aren't related to the Weasleys! And a Potter! Good Lord, that's even worse!"
"Well, I-- I kind of love him, so… am I disowned?"
Draco fell back with a sigh.
"No… but if there's a wedding I sure as hell am not paying for it!"
"Draco..." Astoria said again.
"Fine... but I'm only paying for half!"
Not one of my better oneshots... but I was in the mood, and it's fairly cute, right? You don't have to review, it's cool.
