Fallen.
Russet eyes fought the comings of sleep in the dark dorm.
Sano couldn't sleep. Not after Ashiya left.
Those last beautiful words that rolled off of her plush and soft lips were forever etched into his heart.
He couldn't stop his mind from racing. He couldn't stop his heart from beating. Sano lifted a thin hand to ruffle his hair back. He couldn't stop think about her. Biting his lip, he began to replay the scene of euphoria that occurred in the airport before Ashiya left. He kissed her. He couldn't help it. All of the forming emotions and anxieties were all enveloped in that one kiss. It was as if all the things he couldn't tell her before, were present in that mild, yet loving kiss.
He couldn't forget the promise he mumbled to her next, either.
'Next time, I'll come see you.'
Sano was serious. If he had to track Ashiya down to America, he would; only so he could see her smile once again. He definitely couldn't forget what happened next. Ashiya smiled, mumbled an 'okay' and began to turn away to catch her flight. Sano was smiling, yet as he heard the sound of Ashiya's fading footfalls, his heart began to silently break. Ashiya was walking away with a piece of Sano's heart. A piece of his soul.
Then, as if she heard what Sano's heart was crying, Ashiya turned around.
'Sano, I love you.'
Sano's heart had halted, skipped a beat, and began again. 'She said it.', he thought. Ashiya had said what Sano couldn't say. Looking into her eyes, Sano smiled, silently rolling Ashiya's confession in his head repeatedly.
Sano, lying in his bed, began to replay the scene over and over, savoring the sound of Ashiya's confession in his heart. He wanted to tell her how he felt. He was positive that she knew, but Sano wanted to tell her face-to-face.
Sano rolled over onto his side, sighing gloomily.
He had to tell her. He had to tell her now.
