Space… An infinite realm of possibilities. A lot of people dream to be able to travel along with the stars.

It's also my dream… to be able to have an adventure across the galaxies. To be able to find what the universe has in store for us. And more importantly, to be able to realize what I want to do with my new life.

My name is Junseiun Seiton, an 18 year-old adventurer who hails from planet Earth. And this is how my adventure began.

It's been two months ever since I left Earth. It took a lot of convincing from my parents to let me embark on this journey on my own, on one condition: make this journey worth it.

I had remove the equipment I had back on Earth and replaced it with a sword I obtained back in my childhood and my handy twin handguns. There's no need for me to use any rods or wands to use any technics, most adventurers in Earth are naturals when it comes to using photons. Some technics are learned even without the use of a photon disc.

So basically, I'm at level one.

Not that I don't mind, this makes my journey quite exciting. I can start from the very bottom and rise to the top.

"Hmm… I've finally arrived at the Gurhal System." I said, checking the monitor at my right. "I'm going to run out of fuel any time soon. I must find a port right away." Grabbing the controls, I maneuver my spaceship, Valkyrie, to nearest planet of the system, Moatoob.

As things go smoothly, there was suddenly a warning on my GUI. Nothing seems to be wrong with the ship but when I glanced in front of my path. "What the?!"

The space in front suddenly ripped in two. And for some reason, it's pulling my ship towards it no matter how hard I maneuver away. It quickly vacuumed me in and my vision darkened…

"Ugh…" My eyes slowly opened and I find myself floating in space. "Where am I…?" I asked, managing to stand up.

In front of me, small particles of photons began to gather, forming something I have never seen before. But why of all things it had to be a monster?!

The monster had a face of an animal and its body is comprised of tentacles. It happens to be some sort of ant queen as it spits out smaller beings.

I really don't know what's happening but these things don't seem friendly. In my right hand, I materialized the sword I had obtained in back when I was kid. To be honest, I have no idea of how I manage to obtain this. The only thing I could remember that I stumbled it upon a cave when I was taking a walk. Still, how did I end up there in the first place?

Anyway, I readied myself for a tense battle.

Taking out the little things the queen ant had is the first thing I have to take care of. One slash from my sword can take them out. In an orderly fashion, I bring them all down relentlessly. And it seems the big green thing doesn't have any intention of stopping its production.

I furiously send a Zonde to its head, luckily paralyzing it. Then I slash it into half for the finale.

These monsters were a pushover but it's strange though… They just appeared as I sensed mass of photons gathering together. And… what's with this place? I remember that I was sucked inside a rip in space. Anyway, where's my ship?

I looked around but there was nothing. I can walk around but I'm not reaching anywhere.

Suddenly, images flashed in my eyes. I could see a woman fighting some sort of evil, a man with blue hair grieving over the loss of someone, and another man with a different hair color along with pointy-eared girl, a blue-haired wizard, and an android fighting something eerie.

Those images disappeared and left me wondering. I think I read something that describes the images I saw.

There was another flash of light blinds me and somehow I was sitting at the cockpit of my ship. I shook my head, trying to regain my senses and hope that is just a dream. I checked my GUI and did a short scan on my location. Believe it or not, I ended up in Moatoob.

I shut down the systems of my ship, placed some bird feed on the plate of my pet Rappy, Jet, and had my MySynth, Rei, take guard of this vehicle.

It seems I landed near a small village. The first thing I'll have to do is gather info, I need to know more about this planet. Also, I think I can ask them about the phenomena I just experienced.

As I walked around the village, I noticed that most of the villagers staring at me. Seeing someone like me walking around seemed to be unusual for them. Then again, most of them might be up to no good so I have to keep my guard up. I don't wanna lose any my belongings. Especially at the start of my journey.

I entered a local bar and sat near the barkeep.

"What will you have?" The keeper asked.

"Got any apple juice?" I asked.

The barkeep nodded, grabbing a bottle on the shelves behind, pouring juice on it, and placed it near me.

"Thanks." I said and placed a fair amount of meseta on the table.

"You're not from here, are ya?" The barkeep asked, trying to make a small conversation with me. "Travelers like you are a rare sight in these parts."

I sip a bit of juice on my bottle. "I came a long way to get here." I replied to him.

"Then surely you have heard of the rumors."

I raised an eyebrow at his sentence. "Rumors?"

"I often hear from the people who pass by here of witnessing fabrics of space being ripped into two." The barkeep said. "They say that those who get sucked into one of those end up going somewhere else."

The same thing happened to me earlier. "Do you have any idea how did this phenomena even started?" I asked.

The barkeep shook his head. "Nobody even knows how it even began in the first place, boy." He replied and sighed. "Gurhal already had to deal with Seed Invasion and the Subspace Incident. This whole rifts in space is the last thing the system needs."

I'd have to agree with him on that. From the articles I've read back in Earth, the Gurhal System had a series of unfortunate events. First was the Seed and three years later was the emergence of subspace. Talk about really bad luck.

After a few minutes of drinking and idle chatter, I left the bar.

I'm glad that I've learned something but I never expected that I would downright experience it. Still, this phenomena intrigues me. No one knows how it even began in the first place and I'm pretty sure that there is something to this.

As I was thinking about all of this, there was a sudden explosion nearby. A lot of the townspeople panicked as they run away from the location.

This might be dangerous but I immediately went to the site where the explosion took place.

When I arrived on the scene… there were flames, houses in ruin, and the ones causing it are in front of me with a beast girl trying to fend for herself.

The beast girl had short brown hair with blue ribbons on both sides, she was dressed in a blue jacket and skirt, and white thigh-high boots. She's fending for herself with the help of her twin claws.

By the looks of it, she's exhausted from the confrontation. I peered through the flames and saw the same thing I fought back at the strange dimension I was in. If those things are here, then I must take down the one that's spawning all of them.

I quickly rush to the girl's aid. "Are you alright?!" I asked.

She looks at me. "I'm… I'm alright…" She replied, gasping for air. "There's no end to them…"

"Don't worry, we can end this." I assure her as I try to find the monster responsible from my position. "We just have to find their queen." I said, materializing my sword. "Can you still fight?" I asked.

She nodded, replacing her twin claws with a rod. "I can support you from behind… hah…" She replied. "I can use support techs."

To be honest, she could barely stand. Fighting all of them must have really drained her. I'll have defeat the queen quick. With haste, I concentrated photons around me. "Saner!" I yelled and gave both of us a boost in our speed.

The beast girl seems to be questioning herself about the technic I just used. But, now's not really the time for that it seems. She quickly casted both Shifta and Deband to me and I charged through the horde of enemies.

"Tornado Break!" I swing my sword and the gust of concentrated photons hits the monsters near my range. Fortunately, my Photon Art kills all of them. That leaves the queen for some beating.

The beast girl found the monster in question and she charged towards it. She quickly slashed its head and I follow up with a thrust of my sword and switching to my twin handguns, I fired at its eyes.

I back away and the beast girl clawed it from behind. For the final blow, I began to focus my emotions and pointed my sword at the enemy.

The girl seems to have noticed that I plan on unleashing a powerful attack. She quickly retreats to a safe side so she won't be in range of the attack.

"Megid!" I swing my sword sideways and raw energy explodes at the enemy. Using this technic converts my emotions into raw energy. For some reason, this version of Megid differs from the version that most people use. This one is quite powerful and tends to drain my strength a lot… but I reduced the strain with continuous training. Still, just like the sword I obtained, how did I even learn a technic like this? I'm pretty sure I had checked the technics I have last time.

An hour passed after the fight… The fire has died down, the damaged caused during the fight was kept at a minimum, and no one was gravely injured.

I had interviewed every villager in this town of what were the events before this. All of them said the same thing. The space ripped out in two and monsters suddenly came out of it. It seems that this phenomena has more meaning to it. This might be worth checking out…

"Um… hey there." It was the beast girl from earlier.

"Is there something you need?" I asked.

She quickly bowed. "T-thank you… f-for h-helping me." She began to stammer. "I-if you w-weren't there… I-I don't think I'd be able to m-make it through."

I scratched my head with a slight blush on my head. "W-well, I can't just ignore a beautiful girl like you in danger." C-crap! I said my thoughts too loud! This is the first time I'm talking to a girl!

Her face was as red as mine. "T-thank you!" She yelled at me. I'm pretty sure she's just as embarrassed as me. She quickly stops in thanking me and brings up a different topic. "Um… This is the first time I've seen you around this place, are you a traveler?" She asked.

I nodded. "That I am."

"I'm a traveler too!" She said cheerfully. "Can I go with you?" She asked all of a sudden.

This is kind of sudden. The beast girl I helped asks if she can join me. It doesn't seem that she has any companions along. "Uh… sure." I replied. I guess it won't hurt… The more, the merrier the adventure will be.

She jumps in joy with my approval. "Thank you, thank you very much!" She said and then she presented her right hand to me. "I'm Erra Crystal, it's nice to meet you."

Erra Crystal… the name has a certain ring to it. I like it.

I grabbed and shook her hands. "I'm Junseiun Seiton, it's a pleasure to know you." I said.

After we shook hands. Ella shot a glance at her surroundings. "So, Junseiun, where should we head first?" She asked.

"To be honest, Erra, I just got here." I replied sheepishly. "I had no time to explore this town as those creatures attacked." I added. "Since we don't have any places to go for now, let's head back to my ship."

The next chapter is also what happened on this chapter in the heroine's POV.
