Love Conquers All
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter but my birthday's coming up… in 6 months.
Summary: Love conquers all, or does it?
A/N: Just a cute idea I had, I have always thought that Severus doesn't believe in romance but his thinking just happens to be romantic.
Hermione sighed dreamily as she put down her book, "It really is true; love conquers all."
Severus Snape, her husband, looked up from his book and raised an eyebrow.
"This is the most romantic book that I have ever read and the words written on these pages prove that love conquers all," she explained.
"Love does not conquer all."
"Oh… and why is that?"
"Can love stop a knife at one's throat? Can it save a person from drowning? Can love stop a war? Can love pull a man out of the deepest despair, from the very darkness of his soul? Love is but an emotion."
"Love is more than an emotion. Love is something that gives a person the will to live."
"Many things can do that," he continued to argue.
"Love saved you. Love gave you the will to live, pulling you out of the deepest despair, the very darkness of your soul."
"No, you gave me the will to live. Love is just the excuse for why. You are much more than love."
"I was wrong, that was the most romantic thing that I have ever heard." Hermione answered as she leaned in to kiss her husband.
