The room was silent; across from me was none other than Leo Barlock
"So," He said "About this interview?" he seemed nervous, wondering why anyone would want to interview him, but I had my reasons.
"Yes, about your life in High school" silence was birthed into the air, it was completely silent, I could tell my words had caught him off guard. But I couldn't bring myself to care; it was a long time since then. He most likely had answers to the questions he had about himself then that I want to know now. "My first question is about your regrets," I said, pausing for a moment looking at him "do you regret not sticking up for stargirl? Do you think you could have done something better, done something a different way?"
"Um, sure I do. But I can't change what I did, but if I could I would happily. I would have stuck up for her, I would have taken her to the dance, ignored everyone's harsh words. I always thought being somebody mattered, but truthfully nothing that happened in high school follows you in your adulthood." I had to smile; I could see that he's grown. "Do you have a family now Leo, if I can call you that?" I asked as I watched his face lose expression and blinked "um, no I don't, I never met the right girl. It isn't that I can't move on from stargirl, the time just never came." He answered, but it seems like he was also thinking about his own words. Which was fascinating? What was he thinking? I wish I knew.
"How is Kevin doing these days? Are you two still best friends?" I asked curiously, that seemed to make him smile "Yes, I stay in touch with Kevin, he has a family now, and he's an Insurance salesman." Salesman? Well that's kind of shocking I didn't expect that, but I didn't really expect anything in the first place.
"Wow, that's impressive in a way," I stated "If you could see Stargirl again, what would you do?" his face flushed, eyes wide "I have no idea.." he trailed off into thought. I guess he never thought to look for her, well he's in for a surprise.
I found myself smiling "Leo, do you still love stargirl?" his eyes snapped away from mines showing that he was nervous "Well, I wouldn't say I'm in love with her..." he trailed off
"Well she's here Leo." I watched as his eyes snapped back to meet mine as his eyes widen. I had to let out a small giggle he looked like a dear caught in head lights.
Just then the door opened
"Hello again, Leo!"
