As she sat on the earth, she would have sworn she was on fire.

Her golden hair did nothing to protect the crown of her head from blistering under the blazing noon sun. Grains of sand sizzled as cool waves crashed upon the coast. She was sticky, her skin glistening in the most unflattering way. "The beach," she thought, "is highly overrated". Heaving a sigh, she wondered why she was even here and why it was hotter than hell.

"It's a beautiful day, isn't it?"

She turned to the speaker, an ebony-haired boy with glinting green eyes and relaxed smile that sent a whole new wave of heat through her. How could she have forgotten?

"It's perfect."
