A/N so how many of you just loved last night's Greys Anatomy? I am so happy that Derek and Meredith are finally together. Here is a one-shot on what I think should happen next.
Meredith could still feel where Derek's lips had touched. The kiss was like coming home. And that's what Derek was to her, home. He was the other half of her soul, and she finally was ready to fight for what is rightfully hers. Meredith knew that they had a lot of ground to cover but she was willing to do whatever it takes to finally have her happily ever after. When Derek pulled away from the kiss, she automatically missed him. When he told her that he had to go speak to Rose, she knew that it was the right thing to do. Rose probably has seen this coming. Nobody can come between Derek and Meredith and those that do, end up getting hurt in the process. Because Derek and Meredith are soul mates, each others missing half.
He told her to stay there, that he would be right back. So she stood there, in the house that they will build. She's confident in that. There will be a house built exactly where she is standing. A dream house built out of love. Meredith's mind plays all of her memories of her time with Derek like a movie, from the moment they met at Joes to the kiss that happened just a short while ago. There have been a lot of ups and downs along the way, but she is confident that this time is both the end and the beginning. The end of them breaking up and the beginning of the rest of their lives. It amazed her that she wasn't as terrified as she thought she would be. It shows her that she is maturing and growing as an individual. Meredith briefly wonders how Rose is taking the news. She hopes that Derek lets her down easily. But her mind doesn't stay there for long as her mind drifts once again to Derek. She can't help but smile whenever she thinks about him.
"I hope that I am the one that put that smile on your face" Meredith opened her eyes to see Derek walking towards her with a smile that probably mirrored hers.
If it was possible Derek fell even more in love with Meredith in that moment. She looked so beautiful standing amongst the candles outlining their home. He had to keep pinching himself to make sure that he was not dreaming. Rose had taken the news better than he thought she would. She had told him that she had seen this coming. Nobody came between Meredith and Derek. He had given Rose a quick hug and then he turned around and raced back to his land, to the love of his life.
"Now where were we?" he asked as he reached her side and pulled her back into the kiss of a lifetime. Oh, how he had missed her mouth, the taste that is distinctively Meredith. He had never experienced this type of kiss before, not even with Addison. It was a soul stopping kiss. A kiss that conveyed all the love that they had for each other. All the pent up passion that had been bottled up.
They slowly made their way to the trailer after making sure that all the candles were out. They didn't want a fire to happen. Once they got inside the trailer, they quickly got rid of all their clothes and expressed their love on a much deeper level than they had ever done before. They both finally felt complete.
