This is basically a rewrite of the ending with some of Yukki's thoughts thrown in. I am not very happy with how it turned out but I am planning on rewriting it later maybe.

But hopefully you guys enjoy.

Please review! ;)

His arms were wrapped around her. He finally felt...content. This was better. He felt at peace at what he decided to do.

"I'll die, and create a home for you."

He felt her stiffen in surprise at his words. He faintly heard the buzz of her phone, as the future changed but he ignored it, he felt her move slightly, opening up her phone behind him. In the back of his mind, he wondered what it said.

"I understand." He heard her say quietly, "if that is what you want..."

He mentally sighed in relief, at least she understood what he wanted.

"I've killed too many people. But at least you can..."

She interrupted him, with slightly mad giggle. "You're so silly Yukki..."

Huh? He thought confused, a sickening feeling settling in his stomach.

She raised the knife high and plunged it down quickly. He gasped softly, neither of them moved. There was a sharp pain in his heart, he knew this would happen. But why didn't he stop it?

He broke the silence with a shaky whisper, "Why?"

"I'll stay here..."

"Why..."

"I told you...I won't stab you..." She collapsed against him, her side dripping with blood.

"Yuno!" He cried out, trying to hold her upright. He was filled with pain, he was a fool to think everything would turn out the way he wanted it to.

"That's what the future says," she said faintly, losing strength quickly.

"This can't be..." No, he couldn't believe it. Not when he had been so close. So close to a happy ending.

"Hey..." she leaned up slowly with a smile, obviously in pain, "...kiss me...Yuki.."

He couldn't refuse her. Not now... He leaned down and their lips met, the saltiness of their tears mixing together.

Her phone buzzed in the background but they both ignored it. On its bright screen it read; 'I am so happy. So happy...'

She broke off the kiss, still crying, "You have improved, Yuki." She smiled one last time before closing her eyes, leaning her head against his chest. He hugged her tighter, falling to his knees, sobbing.

He failed, everything he wanted was gone. How did his life turn out like this? He never chose this life. He gave up his parents for her. Because he wanted to. Because he loved her.

She was gone. He could feel her body getting colder, but he still held her. He barely heard Murmur announcing him as the winner.

"We are taking off, First!"

He was being pulled away. He floated away, her body fell to the ground. "Wait!" He held out his hands desperately reaching for her as he floated away.

"Yuno!"

He stared at her, trying to commit her to memory. Her black dress, her pink hair, and her beautiful face. She looked so peaceful, her eyes closed as she fell softly to the ground. He tried to ignore the knife and blood on her side, focusing on her face as he was pulled away from her.

There was still so much he wanted to do for her.

"Yuno!"

A thought crossed his mind.

They never got to see the stars together.
