The Storm
The rain beat down on the house from the outside. As each raindrop hit the house, it made a loud plopping sound. Suddenly, a loud boom crashed through the night sky, rumbling the house with its sound. Ponyboy believed that he must have been the only one awake and he felt envious. He knew that since he had missed his chance to nod off before the storm had arrived, he would now stay up for the rest of the night or at least until the storm cleared.
Another boom crashed through the night. This time, however, Ponyboy noticed the shivering figure next to him. He turned his head to see a pale-faced Johnny, his knees curled up to his chest under the blanket and his eyes shut tight. The light from the lightning illumiated the small shakes that cascaded throughout the older boy's body.
"Johnny, are you okay?" asked Ponyboy, leaning towards the other boy. He was very worried; he had yet to see Johnny in this state until then.
Johnny nodded. "Yeah, P-pony. I've never been better." His lie was quickly revealed when another boom resonated and Johnny cried out, grabbing Ponyboy's hand for comfort. Ponyboy pulled the smaller boy to his chest and hugged him, keeping Johnny safe. Johnny started sobbing, his tears staining Ponyboy's shirt.
"Johnny, it's okay. It's just thunder and lightning, you know," reassured Ponyboy, rubbing circles into Johnny's back.
Johnny nodded. "I know. J-just..."
Ponyboy pulled back from Johnny, carassing the older boy's face. "I'm sorry. If I had known you were afraid, I would have done something sooner." Ponyboy leaned forward, catching Johnny's lips in a quick, sweet kiss. "I feel that I've failed you as a boyfriend."
"Failed me? W-what? You haven't. It's just..." trailed off Johnny, looking away from the youngest Curtis brother.
"Just what?" asked Ponyboy, confused.
"I'm older then you, Ponyboy, but you're the one I go to for comfort and who I look up to. I just don't understand..."
Ponyboy kissed him again. "Why does that matter? I love you and that's all that should matter." Johnny felt himself close his eyes and melt into Ponyboy's chest. Ponyboy grabbed the discarded blanket and pulled it over their heads. The two of the snuggled into each other and soon they were both fast asleep, their even, labored breaths mingling together, creating an ever-glowing warmth.
THE END
A/N: TWO UPDATES IN ONE DAY? HOLY SHIT, RASKO, YOU'RE ON FIRE~! LUCKY US, BUT SHOULDN'T YOU BE STUDYING FOR YOUR SCIENCE FINAL WHICH IS TOMORROW MORNING? (Shut up, I know...)
In response to that, I was writing this along with my other Outsiders one shot for the past week on and off so I just took the time to edit it now.
And to anyone who insists on raging, yes I see Ponyboy as the more "dominate" one in the relationship. I know Johnny is older, but so what? That doesn't mean I like him as the "dominate" one.
When people write it like that, I feel like Johnny is almost OOC.
Anyway, this was just something short that I wrote that is fluffy and cute and has Pony and Johnny in it. Hope you enjoy and please review. :)
