A/N: This story was written for a contest. Plot: Ron and Hermione are getting married. Now it is the reception, and Harry must give his speech for the couple, as Ron's Best Man, and a best friend to the couple

Harry stood up from the table and tapped his glass with his fork. The room got quiet and he cleared his throat.

"Well, it's come time for the inevitable best man speech. Please excuse anything inappropriate that I may say, as this is my 7th glass of champagne." Polite laughter was heard from the many wedding guests. "If anyone was to know these two people better then themselves, it would have to be me. Ron was, and still is, my first friend ever, and Hermione the best girl friend I could ever have. We've all been through so much together. Battles, fights, death, heartbreak, O.W.L.S and N.E.W.T.S. Who would have even thought that a dumb troll would bring us to be the great 'Golden Trio'? And who would have thought that these two people, who did nothing but fight and bicker through almost all 7 years at Hogwarts, would finally fall in love? The day we saved Hermione from that troll, Ron had been very mean, and said some things about her to make her upset. So seeing that it was our fault she was even in that bathroom to begin with, we went to go find her. Little did we know that the events of that night would bring everlasting friendship. Even if most of Ron and Hermione's school years were spent rowing and not speaking for large chunks of time. I'll never forget the day that I realized how Ron felt for Hermione. It was right around the time of the yule ball in 4th year. Ron was jealous because Hermione was going to the ball with Viktor Krum. He was acting like a real git about it too, and her patience was wearing very thin with him. I didn't know she reciprocated those feelings for him until 6th year, when Ron began dating Lavender Brown. I've never seen Hermione more furious with anyone. It was a shame, but it took a great tragedy to bring these two together finally. After the funeral of our dear friend and beloved Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, I found Hermione and Ron snuggling together next to the Weasley's fireplace, Hermione crying into Ron's chest, and him stroking her hair. That moment was just the beginning of many the couple has seen in the last few years. I honestly don't know where I would be without these two. Hermione's never ending knowledge and cleverness, and Ron's never ceasing loyalty and friendship have helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. Without Ron's great strategies in wizard's chess, or Hermione's extensive knowledge of...well..everything, I would not have been able to start the quest, which has finally been finished, of defeating the wrath and injustice of Voldemort. So, if anyone in this world deserves to be happy, I believe Ron and Hermione do. I'd like to make a toast to the bride and groom, and wish upon them nothing but the utmost happiness, and joys that every married couple should receive. To Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Weasley; may your marriage be prosperous, and please, name your first boy after me, will you?" The room burst into wild applause, and Fred and George let off a batch of Weasley's Wildfire Wiz-bangs, which were shooting out sparklers that spelled out 'Congratulations.' Everyone present that day could see that this was not the end of the golden trio, but just another chapter in the stories of their lives.
