It came without warning.
Dr. Franken Stein was minding his own business, filing the last assignments in his grade reports, when a clammy hand not unlike a zombie's laid itself against his cheek's stitches and placed its fingers over his left eye. The glasses on his nose shifted in protest, not liking the invasion occurring behind them, but Stein just smiled.
"Marie, what are you doing?"
An incredibly girly giggle came from behind him, which no doubt meant that Marie was hyper today. She spread her fingers, allowing him to open his olive eye and allowing him to peer out and upwards towards the ceiling. So she wasn't going to show herself. How entertaining.
She hummed. "How did you know it was me?" she cooed, moving her arm up to his throat. He purred a little, leaning back onto her body, enjoying the cushion of her bosom a little too much for modesty.
"The smoothness…" he answered, tracing her forearm with his finger. Her soul shivered, informing him of her blush behind his vision. Then she laughed again, rubbing his face more.
"Stein…Cho Hakkai Stein…"
It was then that he started sneezing, surprising both of them with the outburst's suddenness. Stein broke away from her and removed his glasses, sneezing into his lab coat's sleeve. He looked at her with watered eyes, his glasses placed on the computer desk behind him.
"Sorry, I must be allergic to something."
She raised an eyebrow. "What do you think it is?"
He sniffled. I think it's your lotion. I can smell it all over you."
She crossed her arms. "Oh, really?" she smirked, a grin Stein rarely saw spreading across her face.
His eyes widened, and if he could have, he would have rolled away on his wheeled office chair. But he was trapped against his desk and there was no hope for him. Her hands came forward.
"I thought you liked how soft I am," she crooned, placing her hands over his nostrils. He trembled excitedly, unable to deny her skin's silkiness and the fruity smell of lotion. His eyes watered.
"I like it," he said, closing his eyes and sniffling again, "but it makes my eyes tear up."
She patted his head. "I have to wear lotion, you know."
"Fascinating," he said, eyes gleaming and already inventing an experiment. Marie could see he was getting distracted, ready to dissect something again. She took his head in her hands and-
He licked her. He licked her left wrist. She twitched, startled by his strange and sudden act. His smile widened.
"I like tasting you," he stated plainly, as if it were the most self-evident concept in the world. He dragged his tongue across her right arm. She drew back a little, wishing she weren't so nervous. He grinned mischievously.
"I guess we have the weekend," he teased, making it her turn to tear up. "But I suppose…that now is good too."
He sneezed yet again, ruining the moment. Marie patted his arm.
"It's okay. Get yourself a Kleenex."
He nodded, embarrassed by the suddenly awkward moment. "Alright then. But I'll take care of you tomorrow."
The next day, Stein's students noticed his distractedness, his sneezing, but most of all, the smell of lotion coming from his hands and body. He shrugged, continuing with his paperwork. Whatever they assumed was fine. He had a hot date tonight, and nothing, not even allergies, were going to stop him. And that was nothing to sneeze at. Period.
