Note: Special thanks to Watchdog of the Pack for the design of Olette/Xolette's mother Jessica.

It was another afternoon in Twilight Town. Currently, Xolette was in the kitchen of Le Grand Bistrot. She had decided to try and help with cooking for the day, while Little Chef took the day off.

However, Scrooge was regretting accepting her help by now. All of her attempts to prepare a good quality meal had gone wrong, whether she had used the wrong ingredients or burned the food on the stove. Already, the Nobody girl had cost Scrooge four customers, all of who had left to spend their munny elsewhere. Scrooge decided to give Xolette one last chance to make things work, but fortunately, the Nobody girl seemed to finally start making actual meals afterwards. A bonus was that the customers seemed to like her cooking, so business had started increasing for the day.

Later in the day, Xolette was on break. She decided to leave the bistro for the free time she was given and relax before heading back inside. But as she left through the front entrance, the girl noticed her mother Jessica nearby. Like her daughter before she gained her white hair and yellow eyes, she had green eyes, long brown hair, and soft peach-colored skin. However, her clothes were very different from Olette's style, even now when Xolette wore a monochrome version of her Somebody's original orange and cream clothing. She wore a short sleeved white shirt, a pair of blue shorts, a white apron, a pair of yellow gloves, and a pair of light blue sandals. Xolette smiled and walked up to the older woman.

"Hey, Mom." Xolette greeted.

For some reason, Jessica looked ghostly pale and was shivering.

"H-Hey, Hun." Jessica greeted weakly.

"Are you free to hang out with, Mom? We could go walk around town, or go shopping, or something." Xolette asked, not noticing how her mother was acting.

"Oh, sweetheart... I'd love to, but... maybe not today." Jessica replied slowly.

It was then that Xolette noticed her condition.

"Mom, you're pale as a ghost! And sweating! What's wrong?" Xolette asked.

Jessica shook her head.

"I-It's nothing. I'm f-fine... save for my stomach. I had lunch in Le Grand Bistrot, and then... this happened. N-Not just me... most of everyone in the area is in... the same shape. If you haven't eaten... s-stay away. S-Save yourself." Jessica replied weakly.

Xolette was silent.

"H-Hrrgh... whoever made this is... i-is..." Jessica started to say.

"Your daughter." Xolette said.

Jessica froze.

"What?" Jessica asked.

Xolette looked down.

"I'm sorry, Mom... I thought it turned out so well." Xolette replied.

Jessica shook her head and tried her best to put on a smile.

"H-Hey, it's not... that. I mean... urrgh... it was d-delicious! I'm sure that the... searing pain is... coincidental, t-that's all." Jessica said weakly.

"But you just said that everyone who ate it got sick!" Xolette exclaimed.

"N-No, I-I meant... bluuurp! Oh no... h-here it comes..." Jessica started to say.

She darted off away from her daughter and released the remains of her lunch into a trashcan, moaning as she did. Xolette winced.

"Oh, this is so embarrassing, even when I can't feel any sense of it!" Xolette muttered.

"XOLETTTE!" a voice yelled angrily.

The door of the bistro flung open, revealing a furious duck that was glaring in Xolette's direction.

"You've done it now, my girl!" Scrooge said angrily.

Xolette grinned awkwardly.

"Uh... cooked the food to a well-done level?" Xolette asked.

"NO! Poisoned all my customers! You're fired!" Scrooge replied angrily.

Xolette sighed and looked down.

"And I was so sure I was starting to get it right." Xolette whispered.
