The Witch and The Vampire: Dream
A Bleach Fan Fiction
by Xincliere
There was a big castle in the middle of a vast forest. It protruded taller than the trees, sticking out like a sore thumb. It is said that a vicious vampire lives there thus no one has dared to enter the wide gate of the castle. Everyone was too afraid to get close. They say the vampire who lived there had killed many, suck the blood of many. And they say that his favorite meal are women. Many stories have been passed down since the vampire settled in the humongous but lonely castle.
One night, when the moon was full in the southern woods...
"Rukia!Run!" A feminine voice echoed through the ears of the sixteen year old witch. She was running away from people who were trying to kill her if they caught up with her. She was trembling and deathly afraid. Her whole body ached from the pains of torture, whips, blades and shackles. They had killed her family previously. They killed everyone. She's the only one left.
Then she heard the voice of the woman who told her to run. The woman was screaming in agony during this full moon and then the screams vanished into thin air, a deafening silence roaring through her ears. A strong gust of wind passed. She could hear them, their heavy footsteps. She could feel them hunting her. She needed to run. She didn't want to die!
As she run, like pieces of glass fragments, memories rushed through her mind.
'Why are the witches defeated?'
'Don't we have powers?'
'Why did they choose to attack on a night where the moon is full?'
'Is there any way out for me?'
She felt tears stung her eyes and flowed down her cheeks when she found out that the road she has taken is a dead end. There was a wall. A big old wall. What should she do? They are coming near. Despair threatened to choke her, like fingers of the darkness wrapping its fingers around her throat robbing her of air.
That's when she remembered.
'I am a witch. I could fly!'
She only needed to remember the spell to summon her magic. She thought of the words and they started forming on her lips.
"O-miz-iu-wertes-miz-de be-dis!" She muttered under her breath. That's when her own magical broom materialized. She almost cried with then she heard movement of the trees then hurriedly climb on her broom.
"Fly!" she shouted.
"I would have flew even if you didn't told me to, you know."
"Eh?" She looked around. "Whose there?"
"Down here! You're sitting on me!"
She looked down at her broom which just talked! She never heard in the academy that brooms could talk! All she could do was stare at it.
"I think your brain just short circuited but it's not time for that now."
Then it flew high to the air and she could see what's beyond the big wall. An old castle. She stared in awe at how magnificent it is standing there, the light of the moon shining over it.
'Beautiful...'
The vampire sitting alone near the fire place caught a scent. Something exquisite, the scent of blood which he hadn't encountered for so long. He could only remember one person who possesses this kind of sweet scent, which belongs to a child whom he had saved before from the attack of witches. But that was a coincidence, just all for his benefit.
And this leaves him to wonder if it was her or not. But he was sure that before he let her go, he drank some of her blood. It's impossible for that blood to still be pure.
This intrigued him. He stood wanting to see who owns this scent and brazenly infiltrated his castle.
He headed outside.
Rukia was lost in awe that she didn't notice the creature approaching fast. That's when it struck her when a hand grabbed hold of her left hand. She looked behind her and saw its fangs and eyes the color of blood.
"AHHHH!" She tried to shake it off of her. But with her limited strength drained from her ordeal, her movements were limited and powerless. The creature moved in for the kill and fear coated her stomach like acid. She did not meet her end with the hunters but with this she will die.
Her mind went black. Then someone yanked her, sweeping her off her feet. She opened her eyes and saw that she was already flying.
She sat up and looked below her.
"You…"
"You're much heavier when you're falling." Her broom spoke as it carried her away from the creature. She slid out from sitting on it and stood up.
"Thank You." She said with a slight smile.
"It's what I should do. I'm part of you. If you die, I will also meet my end. We're connected. I certainly don't want that."
"So you just saved me for your own benefit! How rude!" She crossed her arms. "And here I thought you were a true friend!"
Then she heard a rustling sound behind her. She looked around her and to her horror, they were in a cemetery. Someone was standing there, cloaked in darkness. It vanished then she was lifted a few inches from the ground. An arm snaked around her waist and brought her flush to her hunter's body. She tried to get away but the more she protested the more the grip on her waist tightens.
"A girl like you," the man said in a sickening voice, "I would like it if...you become my…bride."
Then the man bared his fangs out, his intent clear. But before it could do so, a sudden thin light hit its forehead and it froze.
"How dare you make a commotion inside my castle."
That's when the man who was holding her turn and she saw that there were also other creatures who have started to back away with scared eyes before they vanished.
She collapsed on her knees to the ground, her short hair fell down to cover her face. Her whole body felt like jelly. She heard someone approach but she never made the action to move away or look away. She was helpless and on the verge of giving up.
She felt him kneel on one of his knees in front of her. She was surprised when his touch on her head was so gentle, she barely felt it.
"What are you so afraid of...?" He asked in a murmur, his voice gruff but cool.
She looked up with tear streak eyes, tears flowing down her cheeks.
"...vam..pires..." She uttered and suddenly she felt herself falling. She was certain she was imagining it when he called her.
"...Rukia…"
Rukia abruptly sat up.
'What happened?'
'Where am I?'
She got out of the comfortable bed and looked around. She went to the window and her eyes widened when she saw nothing but a row of tress. It seems like she's inside the rumored vampire castle. She climbed down a few flight of stairs. She was planning to escape despite her wobbly legs. She went down the stairs determine not to make any noise. Her toes connected with the cold hard floor and as she reached the ground she found someone on a chair. It seems that he's the rumored vampire in the castle.
A vampire, she thought. But he didn't look like one. His orange hair was indeed shocking. Long lashes rested serenely on his high cheekbones. He was also deathly pale.
She drew closer and stood in front of him. His head was resting on top of his left hand which was curled into a fist to support him. She had an urge to touch his hair and she move aside some of the strand that was covering his face. He was almost surreal.
Then he opened his eyes and stared penetratingly at her.
Blood red eyes.
She fell back on her butt.
"Ouch!" She rubbed her sore butt.
Then he was in front of her.
"Hey. What are you so scared of midget?" He asked in a bored tone, mildly annoyed.
A vein popped on her head.
'Did he just call me midget?'
Her fist came flying towards his face, it hit his nose and he fell backwards.
"Shit! That hurts!" He glared at her.
"Well, sorry for being 'petite'!" She fumed. Her small stature had always been sensitive to her. Vampire or not, no one calls her midget!
"Who says you're petite? Are you trying to redeem yourself for being so short? Listen kid, you should be grateful that I saved your life!"
"I am not a kid! And I am grateful that you saved my life but that doesn't mean that I will have you insulting my person! For your information I am sixteen years old!"
"What?" He pointed her. "You? Sixteen? That's hilarious for someone your age being extremely short." He laughed at her.
"And you are boasting that you are tall?" They were forehead to forehead now. A vein popping in each head. "Strawberry." One last blow from Rukia.
"Midget."
Before Rukia could retort back, Ichigo moved his head down and captured her lips. It shocked her, she couldn't move. Everything centered on the lips pressed on hers and the new sensation. She stayed still, eyes wide open. Not really sure of what was happening. One moment they were insulting each other and the next he was kissing her. Ichigo broke contact but not before he licked her lips one last time berfore he stood.
"You're extremely sweet. I want to take a bite." Ichigo's eyes glowed red.
"I'm giving you until tomorrow evening to leave this place. A witch like you, who has human blood, shouldn't stay with a blood-thirsty vampire like me." With his eyes still glowing in the dark he turned around and opened a door from the far corner and entered it. But before he shut the door she heard him say her name, faint, but she heard it.
"...Rukia..."
Ichigo sat on another chair near the window in his own room. Unbidding, the memories of the first time he meet her played like an old movie.
"Ichigo, the hunt is on," Ishida Uryuu said.
"I know."
"Just as I thought, you're boring to be with. This is why I don't want to be on the same team as you." The white cloaked vampire, Ishida Uryuu spoke again.
"Shut up or I'll wring your neck ."
"Ara." The woman vampire, Inoue Orihime, was staring at something or someone.
"What's wrong Inoue-san?" Ishida push his glasses up.
"That girl seems in pain," Inoue commented.
Ishida walked up to see what she was talking about.
"Ahh..." Recognition dawned in Ishida's eyes.
"Isn't she a witch who lives in the southern part of this forest?" Ichigo joined in the conversation.
"That girl is the...cursed witch." Ishida said.
"A witch who has a blood of a human. Witches have different blood like we vampire do. For those stuck up bunch of conved, for them, that is forbidden. A witch should never be involved with a human. That girl is to be executed. Her powers are still dormant, but it is great." Inoue Orihime spoke. She was fond of knowing random information and she's the best in getting information if it's about humans, vampires or witches. She probably has some random knowledge about shifters as well. No one could never beat her when it comes to unimportant information.
Ichigo looked at the girl. A bloody little girl. His eyes glowed. She was just like dead but alive and her scent is unlike any other. Ichigo wondered why the other two vampires with him couldn't sense the sweet scent of her blood. It was enough to make his mouth water.
"Leave it be, Ichigo," Ishida warned him. "A vampire should never interfere with the law governing the supernaturals. And that right there is the Coven's jurisdiction."
"Worst case scenario would be for you to be banished and never to return to our world. You better not show yourself or else you'll be hunted down until you're dead and nothing but ashes. The higher ups don't want any conflicts with the witches especially that they are stronger than us because their magic can be used outside. We only exceed them during every full moon," Inoue warned him too.
His eyes turned back to normal.
"I'm not planning to," he simply shrugged. Ishida and Inoue started to move on their own and he turned to go. He looked back and he realized he shouldn't have done that. Then things wouldn't have gone out of hand.
His eyes glowed looked ahead to see any traces of Ishida and Inoue and when he found none, he turned back to his prey .
They say the most delicious blood comes from a witch who has a human blood. It increases every power a vampire have with just one drink.
Now he was beside her. He cradled her head on his arms. The little child's eyes were deathly still, the color of iris or they say ayame meaning,'the happiness of the believer.'
"If I disappear…will no one remember ...me?" She uttered as her eyes sought his face. She was stained with blood. She must have tried to escape desperately.
"Your name...Tell me." He commanded.
"K-Kuchiki-Ruki...a."
"We'll then dorogaya Rukia, you'll be remembered." He bared his fangs and kissed her neck as he sank his fangs on her white neck. Sweet blood pulsed through his veins he had trouble not draining her because he wasn't heartless. If her human blood was the problem then could help with that. Or so he reasoned to himself. Vampire venoms aren't exactly safe but he could corrupt her blood enough to hinder her powers for quite a time so that she could stand up for herself when time comes.
"I just drank your human blood. You should be safe from the execution for a while. Thanks for the treat." He smirked evilly as his eyes glowed more scarlet. "Happy Halloween."
Then he left her propped by a near by tree. She watched him go. Then there were witches who were looking for her arrived and rescued her. They put her in a spell.
"Arigato, bampaia,"she murmured.
Everything he did was found out by the higher ups which lead to his banishment.
But now, he was the one who controls his life and no one has any hold of him. He's strong enough to protect someone but he won't drag her with him to the depths hell. The spell the witches placed on her was probably wearing out. Despite humans being weaker than other races, they do have resilient human blood which reproduces itself. He slowed it down six years ago. As a pure blood vampire, his venom is supposed to last longer than that but it seems like her powers are stronger than he originally though.
He woke up from his slumber and he didn't even notice it was almost dusk. He walked out of his room and found the castle empty. She must have escaped by now. He sat on his usual chair near the window. He waited until the sky started to turn dark. It was another full moon and he found himself wondering if she's going to be okay wandering around the forest alone.
The moon was starting to show itself, clouds were nowhere to be seen but there were no stars in the night sky.
"Don't you think it's just too rude that he just suddenly kissed me?"
Ichigo sat straight on his chair the moment he hears the voice. That voice...
'Don't tell me...'
"He's a rude guy isn't he? Geez...No manners at all. If he wants me away so much, shouldn't he be walking me out of the forest and escorting me? Right,Shirayuki?"
Ichigo sprang to his feet and turned to see her standing in the balcony on the second floor of the castle.
"You have eyebags." Another voice commented. Who was she talking to and who is she with?
"Well, it's that carrot-top vampire's fault. I couldn't sleep a wink at all last night! First, he insults me, second, he kisses me and third, he told me to leave? Is he insane?"
"All vampires are insane." The broom,Shirayuki said, when he finally caught a glimpse.
"Hey!" He shouted, "I can hear you perfectly fine! And I'm not insane!"
"Says he," Shirayuki said.
"He just wants to redeem himself," Rukia replied.
"You're quoting my line!" He was now shouting frustratedly. "And why didn't you leave?"
"You said it's my choice to leave or not, although you said it indirectly," Ichigo would have asked her why if not for her next sentence. "I owe you my life that's why I'm sure you won't hurt me I know it." She turned around to face him with a huge smile on her face which made his heart skip a more like it made his heart that stopped beating beat for a second before he regained his composure.
"You seem to be so sure."
"I am sure."
Then he appeared at her side, moving her hair away from her neck, cradling her head, exposing her neck to him.
"Really?" He felt her stiffened. "I didn't save your life on purpose that time. I was young and its been six years since then. I'm not the same anymore." He proceeded to lick her neck, eyes glowing blood red in the dark.
"When the elders cast a spell on me again to make sure that I have human blood they found the wound you inflected on me healed immediately so our interaction remained unknown most of the witches. But the blood you suck out of me, they were my human blood and you injected me with vampire venom which corrupted my blood. They weren't able to proceed to the execution because they the spell won't work unless my human blood was pure. I felt that my human blood slowly regenerates but they didn't notice and until now no execution has happened."
"So that's why your blood is still the same. It didn't change at all even after I bit you. You should know, that's a treat for me." He pressed his fangs slightly on her neck enough to break skin causing it to bleed. He moved out of her grasped and she pressed her palm on her neck. It was written on her face that she was still shaken up from yesterday's event.
"If you don't leave now, I'll hunt you down and you'll be mine."
She then run out from the balcony, taking two steps at a time down the stairs and stormed out of the castle. The sky roared and cries echoed through the night.
"AHHH!"
Then he looked out of the balcony. He could see those lecherous vampires who wants her. They've been infesting his castle for a while now and since they haven't done anything, he let them be because it was a bother. But now, they dared threaten his woman?
He jumped out and ripped their heads violently. The hand who touched her, he cut off. Those who bared their fangs at her, wanting to bury in her neck we broken. He will tear anyone into pieces who ever dared to touch her. No one was allowed to touch her…Only...him. But no, probably not even him/
He moved next to her.
"Ichigo." She stared at him, her eyes field with horror for a second then he tilted her head to the side and sunk his fangs on her neck.
He then raised his pointer finger and shot a red light which was actually blood that sprung from his fingers and it went straight to the foreheads of the low vampires. His power was a rare one. As a dweller of the night, he wondered why he was gifted with the sun's power which turns his opponents into ashes.
He stood there on a rainy night where no stars could be seen even the moon is hidden behind the clouds and it doesn't matter. Nothing matters anymore. His moon is in his arms. He was sure she'll hate him but he will never let her go again. If everyone's going to hunt her down anyway, he might as well lock her up in his castle and he'll protect her with his life.
Ichigo was sitting again on his chair near window, by the fireplace. His eyes glowed red as it flew open then became lidded. He must have fell asleep and dreamt of that night again.
Warm arms wrapped around shoulders and he relaxed.
"I…don't hate you." The girl with eyes the color of amethyst and the other the color of blood, stared into his face. "You're dreaming again." Her breath tickled his neck and he tilted his neck to the side to get her more access. She leaned in and kissed him there. When she bit him her thoughts flooded him in pleasure and he bit his lips. His right hand grasped her head and held her there.
"Ichigo, don't leave me."
"Ichigo, you're mine."
Sometimes he wondered what he turned her into.
"I'll always stay by your side."
But he never regretted one moment of his decision.
He grasped her hand with his free hand and brought his wrist to his lips and kissed the unsteady pulse there before breaking skin. And he let her know his thoughts, all the dirty and dark thoughts she inspires and the feelings he couldn't quite name.
A/N:This was for Bleach Asylum giveaways back in 2011 for Halloween. Revised and I still notice the amateurish way it was written. This was long. My shoulders are aching!
