During the hot summer day with a refreshing cool breeze, two blonde lovers bounced throughout Tokyo without a care in the world.

One alternate timeline for Tsukino Usagi to exist in was one without her future lover Mamoru, who had never existed for his grandfather never survived the debilitating disease he contracted as a child. While the lack of Tuxedo Mask definitely had a profound effect on certain events, the Sailor Scouts were still able to survive and win important battles, alertly with less than favorable outcomes at times. They were all still alive though, all in one piece. Just really tired. At least school was out for the summer, and any evil forces were staying quiet.

Usagi and Minako decided to spend all day together as their first official date. They had gone on smaller dates together, but those were mostly simple friendly meetings or they were with other friends. With the occasional monster popping up to interrupt. With the other scouts had their own things going on today, the two were alone together at last.

"Not that way!" Minako quaked as she pulled the day-dreaming Usagi away from the gate leading into the red-light Kabukicho District.

"Oh, sorry." Usagi apologized as she bowed. "I was just thinking. Where should we go?"

"I told you before." Minako insisted with a huffy face. "I want to see that new park down on Jutendouji Avenue. Come on!" And with that, Usagi followed her girlfriend through the growing crowd towards their new destination. They did stop along the way to get some fruit-flavored ice cream, Minako's treat, so at least Usagi's sweet tooth could be quieted.

The new park was empty, of both life and equipment. There was a lake, some trees, and a few benches. The only other people around were far off doing their own thing. After Usagi threw away the wet napkin, the two sat down at the bench overlooking the lake. They sat in silence for a good minute or two, watching the still lake. Minako spoke up soon.

"Usagi?"

"Yes, Minako?"

"Dead Moon Circus was tough, weren't they?"

"Sure…where are you going with this?"

"Only makes me worried just how tough the next big threat is going to be."

"We'll get through it! No worries whatsoever! We're getting stronger all the time with all new transformations, so the next baddie will just melt in our presence."

"Sure, yeah. Sure. Yeah."

"Need a warm hug?"

"I need…I don't know what I really need."

"Besides me?"

"I already got you…right?"

"Yeah!" Usagi slapped Minako on the back. "I'm always here for you!"

The Shadow Galactica indeed made both Minako Aino and Sailor Venus fear for themselves, the city, and most importantly for her lover. Usagi, regardless of what happened, regardless of the darkness seeping into Tokyo everyday, kept on smiling and talking highly about her and Minako's love.

And their reward will come one day, as they would be allowed to dance together in heaven for all time together.
