Just a quick little snippet of the March promo. One scene. I couldn't help but notice Charming seemed a little darker without Snow by his side. Gideon has arrived in the past to kill Emma and David isn't going to let that happen, even if it means killing Belle and Rumple's son. But Belle isn't going to let that happen.
"Is he here to kill Emma?" David glared at Belle who was looking nervous. Somehow he already knew the answer, but he had to hear it.
"Yes." Belle said, not looking any happier about the answer, but not as furious either.
"Than how do we stop him?"
"I don't know. Me and Rumple are trying to figure that out."
"Well you better think of something. He's trying to kill my daughter and I can't let that happen."
He walked past the beauty, grabbing his own sword and holstering his gun just in case.
"And what does that mean?" Belle asked, stopping Charming before he could leave the station. "Emma may be your daughter, but Gideon is my son. I can't let you kill him."
"Belle, I don't know if you see it, but that man out there isn't your son. That is a monster trying to destroy my family!"
"A monster? Just like Lily was?"
Charming blinked, her question freezing him. "What?"
Belle couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had hoped that Charming would understand her situation and actually want to help her, but the way he was acting it was like he was okay with killing her son if it meant Emma survived. Perhaps what Rumple said was true. They preach about being heroes, but only if it served in their own interests. She could see it now. All they ever saved was their own family. And despite Rumple's connection to Henry, they didn't qualify.
"You and Snow went through so much trouble to make Emma the Savior that you were willing to sacrifice Maleficent's daughter because you assumed she would be evil and a monster like her mother. But it's because of what you did that made her that way, filled with more darkness than anyone should have. And Gideon may be a more evil man than I thought even Rumple was capable of, but that's my fault. I sent him away because I was afraid that having Rumple in his life would make him the man he is right now. So instead of having faith that I could raise him right I sent him away, causing him to be kidnapped. It's because of my own actions that he's the way he is. Emma may have become the Savior because of what you and Snow did, but that doesn't mean my son has to be this way. There's still hope. If I can get him back than maybe I can change what I did and help him become the man he can be. But just as you can't let my future son kill your daughter, I can't let you kill him. There's still a chance, but I need help."
Her speech stopped Charming. He relaxed and let his sword fall by his side, still grasped in his hand. He let out a heavy breath. "You're right. I'm sorry. But do you have a plan?"
She sighed. "No. But Rumple does."
"Gold? Isn't he the reason all this happen?"
Belle's eyes widen. What did she just say?! Maybe Rumple was right again. He really was an incompetent shepherd. But she knew that was her anger and self-loathing causing those thoughts. She took a breath. "I know now that I let my own anger and fear cloud my judgment. After everything Rumple went through to find Neal, I should have know that he would do nothing to hurt his child. All he ever wanted was to protect us and I didn't let him. You and Snow went through a lot to find Emma and your family. Even jumping through portals. But Rumple's the expert. If anyone has a plan of getting baby Gideon back from the darkest of realms, it's him."
Short, but tell me what you think.
