I was slightly dazed as I entered the room, I sat about 3 rows from the front, I wanted a good view, but didn't want to be stared at for half the seminar. There were a few people in the room, but as the starting time came closer more people arrived. The room was becoming crowded, everyone had heard that this was an easy seminar, so they kept on coming, I wanted to take it as I was interested in forensic science.
A middle aged man walked into the room, the silence that followed was deafening, I wasn't sure why it went silent but it was odd. He crossed the front floor and waited till everyone was seated before he started speaking. He spoke about forensic science and it's uses in a investigation, he reached out to the anatomy of some murders and the applying of entomology in cases.
At the end of the seminar the crowd began to dissipate, I stayed to back to ask a couple of the pondering questions on my mind. I looked over to see if he was packing up, when I saw him leave. I hastily picked up my bag and followed him out.
"Excuse Me….um, Mr……," I hollered down the hallway.
He turned on the spot, he glared at me liked I'd asked him how his love life was going. I caught up to him and offered my hand.
He shifted some of his folders from his right hand to his left and grabbed my hand.
"Sara Sidle," I offered, he gave me his name again and I caught it this time.
'Yeah, I should of known that…. but, it was hard to hear it before," he smiled, probably aware that his seminar's were known as easy bludge classes.
"I was wondering about the progression of bugs upon a decomposing body, you didn't talk about it much in your seminar," he thought for a moment before gesturing we continue down the hallway.
"I may have friend that can help you with that,"
We worked our way to his office, and I was surprised to see another being occupying it.
'Sorry, let me introduce you to our provisional speaker, Mr. Grissom. He is doing a more intricate seminar of entomology, he's also doing a workshop," the man turned around and greeted my with a warm smile, he extended his hand. I was so overcome I almost forgot to shake his hand, I swiftly raised my hand and shooks his.
"Mr. Grissom. I believe this young lady has taken a interest in your field of expertise. If you could satisfy her desire for knowledge I think she would be grateful,"
"I would be honoured," was his only response.
He guided me over to his desk, it was cluttered with files and folders, little glass cases that held bugs inside them and his laptop.
"Now, which question did you confuse dear Watson with?"
