Here's a little drabble that was co-written by my amazing friends Couture Girl, Violet Scarlet Lily, and, of course, me. If you want to see more of our stories, check out "Nirvana" and "Red" by Lily. CG's fic should be up soon as "Addiction".
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
The window screeches and shutters but the screen finally slides out. She giggles, drunk, and reaches her fingers down to hoist him up. Fay brushes her hair out of her eyes and smirks at him, the two alone in her dorm. She offers out a bottle of firewhiskey, "Want some?"
He just looks at her as if she has gone mad. He has known her since they were infants. Fay never was like this. It shocked him, really. He was the demon, while she was the sweet angel. (Well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration) It must have been that stuck-up Macmillan. He had broken up with her that morning.
He clutches her hand, sorry for giving up on her a few months ago but also afraid of where she might go. She throws an arm around him, her words slurring as she confidently relays how she's "totally over Ernie". Offering him another drink, she pours herself a shot and leans back to swallow when he blocks her arm with his.
"Fay," he insists, "Please, don't get like this. I shouldn't be up here. Where are Hermione or Lavender and Parvati?"
"Hmm. Hermione *hiccup* is with Dean. Lavender *hiccup* snogging Seamus. And Parvati? I don't know-nor do I care."
He knew when she started to hiccup, it meant that she was beyond drunk. "How about you just lay down and sleep it off, your drunk."
Fay just laughs and lays her head on his shoulder, "I'm *hiccup* not drunk."
"You said that in the Yule Ball, and the next day you had lost your virginity with Macmillan." Draco teased.
She tensed at the mention of her ex's name.
"Don't talk about him," she managed through gritted teeth before smiling widely and planting a kiss on his lips. Being drunk always made her romantic but Draco just flinched away. She glared at him, always mad when men won't return her affections but he just pushed her away.
"Fay, we've been over this. It's over between us, all over. You're not for me and even if our mums and dads would love the idea of a wedding, you always made me sick as a little kid," he commands, remembering their first year.
She shudders, Fay wasn't the most prettiest girl when they were little. Of course she has grown into a very beautiful pureblood witch. But let's just say the younger version of her still haunted her.
"Please Draco. Just one kiss," she whispers, "Make me forget."
And Draco's stormy grey eyes are conflicted...
She's become a more mature (although, that's still not saying much), beautiful young lady. But she also needs to realize its over between them and while they'll always be friends, never lovers. Never more than the limit. Because they've seen what'll happen when he gives himself to her. How it was almost him that stole her virginity. Almost, but not quite.
He was about to fall for her. Malfoy's never fall for someone. That someone falls of him, not the other way round. But it's bittersweet. Her smell of strawberries. Her soft, delicate skin. And her brown hair that reminds him of chocolate. He does want to kiss her, but no, he can't. He has to leave.
Standing up, he says quietly, "We're not meant for each other, Fay."
Yep, Fay Dunbar and Draco Malfoy, what do you think? Please R&R for all three of us! :)
