The Secret Life of Henry McCoy by Eve-the-Charlotte
Pairings: Hank/Bobby.
I now present a story that sheds a bit more light on XME's version of Beast, with a bit of Hank/Bobby sprinkled in.
Henry McCoy actually hated his codename. That was the first main fact about him. He looked like a beast, hell, he felt like one sometimes, but he was no beast. He had a Ph.D. to prove it, thank you very much.
Secondly, he loved teaching, though that wasn't much of a surprise to anyone who knew him. The odd thing was that he preferred to teach English instead of sciences. But, alas, young St. John Allerdyce got the job, and he was stuck teaching about the science that made mutants possible. He didn't resent Mr. Allerdyce for it. Much.
Third, teaching was not his entire life. No, he loved to see nature in its most primal form, perform experiments in his lab, and take his young boyfriend on dates, to name a few. Though teaching did take up a large portion of his time, it wasn't all he was. Not at all.
Fourth, he wished with all his heart that he didn't have to hide his mutation. Not too long ago, he was ashamed of his nature, ashamed of his supposed inhumanity. That had changed though, once he worked at the Institute, he realized that he could have been much worse off and that most did not care how he looked. The final evidence of that was his love, who swore to love even if he turned into a cat thingy. Later, he found it corny, but it was still the sweetest thing anyone had ever said to him.
Finally, he loved Bobby Drake, who was young enough to be his son and often had the maturity of one young enough to be his grandchild. Their relationship was unorthodox, and faced many hardships, often in the form of the ones they loved dearly. Despite it all, they had overcome the hurdles and made it through. The wedding band was proof enough of that.
Hope you people liked it. Review!
