Prologue

"It's a boy!"

Stella smiled in relief as the pain slowly subsided. Her head fell back to the pillow tiredly as she watched with an excited grin her husband cut the umbilical cord.

The midwife handed her crying son to her husband. The doctor wiping the blood out of his tiny, fragile body. Stella's shoulders shook with happy sobs as she held her darling baby for the first time.

She was extremely tired. The doctor had proposed that she take the epidural but she denied it. She wanted to experience the pain of bringing someone to life by her own will. She wanted to feel her baby. Feel the miracle of pushing him out. Feel the love and comforting words of her husband by her side as she pushed the baby.

And regardless of how worn out she felt, Stella couldn't help but feel excited watching her baby drink milk out of her.

September 29 of 2019.

The birth of Lucian Blake Shields.

"He's beautiful," Stella commented with a loving smile. "He's everything I ever dreamed of."

Brandon chuckled at his wife. He continued to brush her messy blonde locks as he watched his son drink milk out of his mother. It's crazy how life changes so quickly. Just a few hours ago he was at a meeting with his dad. He never imagined Stella's water would break this particular week. The doctor had told them the baby was going to be born the first week of October. But Brandon didn't care. He was in desperate need to see his son. He craved to hold him. And looking at himself right now; he's glad his boy decided to come out now. Brandon wasn't sure if he could hold one more week with this excitement.

"He is." Brandon agreed blissfully, caressing his little head. "Our little Lucian."

Stella cooed as little Lucian sneezed and went back to his position on his mother's chest. This without a doubt was Stella's life. Her happiness was held now by two incredibly beautiful boys. One was her man and the other man —or rather boy— was her son.

"I didn't think I would fall hopelessly in love twice in my whole life." Stella grinned at Brandon, earning a soft peck on the lips from him.

"Same here." Brandon whispered in her ear. "He is without a doubt the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to us."

Stella nodded, handing Lucian to Brandon. She fixed her hospital gown and turned her head to where her husband sat. He looked so awestruck and happy holding his son that it made Stella weak in the knees. Even if she wasn't standing.

"Mrs. Shields?" A midwife interrupted her thankful thoughts. "Mr. Shields." She later regarded Brandon. "Your family is expecting to see the baby. Should I send them in?"

Stella smiled and nodded tiredly. She was so enthralled with her baby boy the she completely forgot about her family.

After a few seconds later, Stella saw her mother peek in with her head waiting for Stella to give her a signal. Stella nodded and Luna walked in, followed by her dad and Brandon's parents. And of course Bloom and Sky.

"Hey, guys." Stella greeted the family. "Meet Lucian."

Luna and Luciana smiled excitedly as they walked towards Brandon to see their new grandchild. Radius and Benjamin went over to Stella to check up on her as they knew their wife's would hog their grandchild for quite a time.

Luciana gasped softly as she took Lucian in her arms. A few flashbacks of when she gave birth to Brandon and his brother suddenly came to mind and she walked towards Benjamin and Radius so they could have a look.

Stella's and Brandon's parents were all equally proud of their son and daughter in law. They've come such a long way and now they have a child born out of love. A child of their own.

Five months have passed.

And Stella couldn't help but feel nostalgia at how time passed so quickly. Lucian has only changed her life in so many good ways that Stella just wanted to freeze time and prevent him from growing up. He already knew how to crawl. He gave up on breastfeeding and now he could sit alone. Stella wanted the days were he depended fully on her and Brandon.

And even though she was feeling nostalgic, she was feeling happy. She just closed her very first deal with a fashion company who wanted to sell her clothes. Stella was excited she's going to have her own line of clothes. But she was in Shanghai. And Brandon and Lucian were in New York. This is her first time leaving Lucian alone for a whole week. But Stella knew that Brandon would take great care of him. He always has. Brandon put himself last and his son first.

Stella sighed and looked around for any upcoming cars. It's already midnight in Shanghai and Stella was only a few blocks away from her hotel so she decided to walk rather than take a taxi. Seeing no car around, Stella started to cross the road. She took her phone out and wished Brandon and Lucian a good night. This was only the second day of her trip and she already wanted to go back home.

A few seconds later, Brandon bid her good night too. Stella smiled like a fool and brought her phone close to her chest.

The blonde was so lost in her thoughts that she never heard a car speeding with no intentions of stopping riding through the road. The driver was drunk and never took notice of the blonde. The car hit Stella with no mercy and stripped her away of everything.

The last thing she saw was a photo of her son and a message from her husband saying 'I love you.'

From having everything, she went to having nothing.

Not a single thing.

Yikes! I just wrote this in thirty minutes. Like literally right now.

This is a story that I fortunately received a sudden inspiration to write about. I was reading a story and when I finished the chapter I started to read the comments. All basically said that the female lead lost her memory and didn't remember who her husband was. Since there is a similar story to the one mentioned in the comments in this very fanfiction, I decided to spice it up and make Stella a mother.

I plan on making it short, about 10-15 chapters. I'm still editing the first chapter of Unrequited Romance so here's something for you guys get amused on.

Feedback is welcomed as well as constructive criticism.

Have a great Father's Day!
