Just a short poem I wrote about Belle - sort of set when she's locked up in Storybrooke. Please read and review! :)
Those innocent eyes,
Look with desperate hope,
You don't want to be jaded,
But you don't know how to cope
With the reality that stares at you,
Bores into your soul,
Rips the heart from your chest,
And leaves an empty hole,
You mind peels away,
Like the bed sheets
You thought would protect,
Now you retreat,
Within yourself
Into the fiery depths,
You've hit the bottom,
Come crashing down,
What is left now
But to let yourself drown?
The ocean drags you deep,
As you fight against
Your gown
Then, a song,
Whispers softly in your ear
The mermaid pulls you up
Above the waves, you realise,
That there's nothing to fear
As a beast reaches out his claw,
And pulls you gasping
To the shore
He's what you cling to,
Now nothing is as it seems,
You've tumbled in
To your very own dreams
Now look around you,
They're all there,
All the creatures
From that far away land
They crowd you in,
Lead you off the path,
You've stumbled through the woods,
Let this not be your last
Your heart lives there,
Your soul and your mind,
It's a pity you left,
Your body behind
In the padded cell
They put you in,
When you dared to tell them,
What you've always believed in.
