"Why do you insist on lending our power to that half-breed," a red and white dragon growls, "we can defeat the demon tamers without it."

"You idiot," a tiger sporting the same colors as the dragon hisses, "if we fight, they will kill us. We need the child of the Moon Tribe man to help us."

"If I may," a rabbit, colored the same, mumbles, "he won't be strong enough on his own. Others will have to help him."

"Others," a mouse pipes up, "elaborate Yumi."

"Do you expect Terasu to keep him locked away from the world until he's needed? He'll find people he trusts and if they're true friends, they'll follow him."

"We shall give him our powers if and when he finds us," three monkeys say as one, "that way we all get what we want."

"I'm going to hide myself so that it won't find me." And with that last growl, the dragon flies off to who-knows-where.

"Have fun, Yomi," a sheep, apparently drunk, shouts, "Bring me back some of that Kamiki sake for me!"

"You don't need any more sake," a phoenix yells, "you're drunk!"

A monster roars from somewhere, shaking the ground where the animals stand.

"Run!" All of the animals scatter, running up towards the sky.
