George Wickham had a hard time hiding his smile as he walked out of the Bennet's house. His plans were coming together nicely. His luck was turning and karma was on his side for once. Darcy would never expect what was coming his way.

Darcy had always been the thorn in Wickham's side. Wickham's father was Fitzwilliam Darcy's right hand man. He would issue out orders and George Wickham, Sr, would carry them out. Wickham never understood how the Darcys would get credit for all the things that that Wickham, Sr., made happen. Darcy was living the life that should have been his; the glory and riches that Darcy enjoyed should have belonged to Wickham. He would never be happy until he ruined Darcy's life.

As he climbed into his rental car (paid for with a stolen credit card) and pulled out of the driveway, he contemplated his change in fortune.

Wickham's first bit of luck was meeting the Bennet sisters. Lizzie was a hot little number, but she was completely irresistible once he discovered her strange connection to the Darcy family and Darcy's strange obsession with her. It was unfortunate that Darcy was able to get his hooks into her and corrupt her against him during the time she spent at Collins & Collins. Even with Darcy's embarrassing confession of love. He enjoyed that episode of Lizzie's vlog and re-watched it often. There was nothing that Wickham enjoyed more than watching Darcy get beat down – by a woman, no less. It was irrefutable proof that Darcy was nothing more than a blubbering, emotional dimwit. His Achilles heel was his emotions and Wickham was more than happy to exploit that weakness for his own amusement.

Lizzie made her feelings clear when Wickham ran into her in December. She no longer had trust in him, which was essential to his plans. But Wickham always figures out a plan B. Patience was a virtue that he had in spades; he knew if he bided his time he'd find another way in through Lizzie or Lydia's blog.

His second bit of luck came with Lydia's fight with Lizzie and her subsequent excursion to Las Vegas. He knew exactly how to play this and Lydia proved stupid enough to fall for it, hook, line, and sinker.

The vlogs helped in his research. He knew exactly what to say to get Lydia on his side. He knew she could relate to making bad decisions. Spending money foolishly and choosing parties over school work was just the tip of the constructed backstory he fed her. The part about family turning their backs on him was stroke of pure genius, if he did say so himself.

Now that he'd laid the ground work, he was ready to take the next step in his plan.

"Darcy will never know what hit him."
