Merlin ad just told Arthur about him being a warlock, Arthur didnt belve him at first until he saw the tears glisten in Merlins eyes, then he knew that his one true friend he had cound not trus him with this. But Merlin however saw the prices face a knew he hated him, and so he ran, he ran into the woods never to look back, all that was going throught his head what waswas Gaius going to do without him, plus the fact he had left without saying goodbye. Merlin had been so cought up in his thought he didnt know Arthur had ran after him shouting his name over and over aging for Merlin to just keep running, Merlin kept running alright, right into a bandits sword. Merlin stopped he felt no pain he felt nothing, he looked up into the bandits eyes frowning, then he looked down and saw the sword inpailed into his stomach, he grasped hold of the sword and screamed, and his eyes glistend gold and the bandits where shot backwards, when the got to their feet they spent no time waiting around they just ran. Merlin tried to walk but fell to his knees, to be caught by Arthur. Merlin looked up to see Arthurs face, tears welling up in his bright blue eyes, but now they seed dark and sad.

"Merlin why did you run from me?" Arthur had said whilst holding Merlin tightly to his chest

"i.. i saw h...how you looked at m... me and i knew i was a d...ead man"

"Merlin, you are my only true friend, the only person who tells me their honist opinion when i need it the most, i am upset you thought you could not tell me, but that does not matter now" Arthur said as he looked down at Merlin who was now pale but still holding onto the sword.

"Can you walk with that in you or..."

Merlin tried to get up but a painful scream was let out and he collapsed back to Arhur.

"Right well that didnt work, i will have to pull it out, tell me what i need to do thou, because you are most definatly going to pass out" Arthur said with a tone of panic in his voice witch Merlin could tell

"Why are you doing this for me?" Merlin said looking Athur in the eyes.

"im doing this because you the onlf friend i have and i could't bare to lose you, even if you are a clotpole!"

Merlin laughed but pain shot into his body as he did "Thats my word"#

"Merlin just tell me what to do already" Arthur said seeing how Merlins eyes were slowly falling shut.

"Pull the sword out as fast as you can, i will scream but just keep going, it will hurt more if you stop half way, then put pressure on it and tie something tightly around it to try and stop the bleeding."

Arthur got straight to work, he tore part of his top ready to use as a make shift bandage and another part of for Merlin to have in his mouth to bite down on. He looked Merlin in the eyes nodding as he did to signal he was ready Merlin di the same and Arthur put the bit of cloth in Merlins mouth, grapped the sword and started to pull. Immediatly Merlin let out a defining scream, Shouting at Arthur " STOP PLASE... STOP" then as Arthur had finished pulling the swrod out Merlin went limp and the screams ended, Arthur wasent sure what he prefered the dead silence or Merlin screaming, either way it was hard for him to watch his friend in pain.

As Merlin had said Arthur pressed on the wound and tightly tied the make shit bandage aroud the small frame of his manser...friend, befor carrying him back to the castle. As he was walking back Merlin's eyes flutterd open "Arthur? where are we going"

"Back to Camelot" Arthur said trying to reasure him this will be okay with a smile.

"But..but im a warlock and your father will have me execu..."

Arthur stopped Merlin before he could finish "MY father will never do that to you as he will never know, when i am king Merlin i promis i will chancge the laws but.. I could not even persuade my father to change it now, all he sees is evil in anyone who practices magic. but i will have to have you tell me why you started to parctice magic when you know it is out lawed?"

"I didn't... I was born with it, i had no choice and then my mother got worried about me and..." Merlin trailed off and Arthur knew it was a tought subject for him.

"Shhhh" Arthur said "You can tell me everything when you are better, I promis you MErlin you are safe, I will ALWAYS protect you." Arthur said that to Merlin just before Merlin went limp in Arthurs arms.

Arthu got to camelot and Uther had asked what happend and Arthur just simply said "Merlin got attacked by bandits" then without letting Uther answer he walked to Gaius's chamebers with Merlin in his arm smilin knowing he was okay.
