Jack didn't mean it.
They were just playing.
They were just having a snowball fight.
He didn't mean to…
The Spirit shakes his head and ran faster, tears spilling down his pale cheeks.
He had pushed him.
He had made him bleed.
Jamie.
His first believer.
The images flash through his mind again.
The scrape on the boy's knee, the sobs that slipped his lips.
Jack couldn't take it.
He had run.
He couldn't bear to see how Jamie would be at him.
"I hurt him…" Jack whimpers. He slowly falls to his knees, his fingers curling around locks of his hair. More sobs rack his body.
"J-Jack! W-Why did you p-push me?!" Jamie had yelled, hurt behind the brunette's tone. He had whimpered at the sight of blood dripping down his knee.
Jack winces at the memory. He couldn't stop sobbing, it pained his heart to have hurt a child, and his first believer at that.
"Jamie I- I didn't- I'm so-" Jack had shook his head and rushed off, trying to hold back the tears.
"Such an idiot…" Jack mumbles to himself, bringing his knees to his chest.
A pair of small arms slithered around his waist, hugging him gently.
The Spirit stiffens, his eyes widening. "H-Huh?"
"Jack… I'm OK, now…" A small voice whispers.
Jack's eyes double in size as he recognizes the voice. "J-Jamie?" He asks quietly.
Said boy crawls around to the face before hugging him again. "I-I'm OK, now, Jack…"
Jack flinches lightly. "A-Are you sure? I-I hurt you…"
Jamie smiles gently up at him. "It was an accident! It's OK!" He assures the other.
A small smile works its way onto Jack's pale lips. He hugs Jamie gently. "I'm sorry for hurting you. Thanks for forgiving me…" He murmurs.
Jamie grins and hugs Jack back. "Are we gonna continue our snowball fight or what?"
Jack smirks, letting go of Jamie and standing up. "Race ya back to the forts!"
With that the two dash off.
