The day Kagome fell down the well was the day she though her boring life would turn into something much more telling, like that of a fairytale.

She was gravely mistaken.

Kagome fell through, bloody after some animal like creature had tried to hurt her, for reason unknown to her. She ran, confused and holding onto her side. Whatever the animal was after it must not have gotten because it was still chasing her and that's when she ran into a man, at least she thought it was a man.

It was then that Kagome realized that the demons her grandfather use to tell her about where indeed real, the old man was not so crazy now. This man demon saved her from said monster but she was still not safe, for he took her and put her in chains.

Kagome quickly realized that she would be a slave, and fear rolled over her. The big like demon threw her in a chart with other woman and they made their way south, far far away from the well she fell down.

She was quickly stripped of her uniform with a great sneer from the maids who called her a whore. She was fitted with tan wide leg pants and a navy kimono style top after having her side tended to. Ths outfit was thick but not made from great material, it itched.

There was no grace period, the same day she fell down the well, the threw her out into the field, bleeding side and all. Kagome begged at the head old woman slave, telling her she was not from here, that she didn't even know where here was! The head woman was not amused and snapped a whip making her back up, she begged, wanting to know what year it was, which was met with a laugh before the old haggard woman appeased her by telling her the year. Kagome stepped back and lifted a hand over her mouth in great shock, she had fallen 500 years into the past.

That was 4 months ago. Her clothes were dirty, her hair pulled back, her shoes falling apart and her back hurt. Some days she tended to fields, other days she cleaned around the castle-like home and some days she gathered wood, and now, 4 months later she was learning to hunt with a bow and arrow, due to her good manners and never trying to leave, other women, were not so lucky.

Kagome held the bow high, the human older man tapped her elbow with a switch causing her to wince "To high!" He snapped.

She gritted her teeth but lowered her arm,

"Now aim, and release!" He yelled, his brandy breath reaching her, nasty.

The deer came into view, and she released and hit.

"Finally you wretched girl" He had been directing her for days, it was her first hit. "Now go get it and clean it"

The man turned away leaving her to tend to the rather large deer. Kagome slung her bow over her shoulder and dragged the deer by its horns back. She hated cleaning animals, hated it. She would end up bloody and they didn't always allow her to clean afterward. She started her job and had just got to pulling the deerskin off when the wagon came along and a child was thrown from it. Kagomes mouth opened wide and she paused, only be punched in the arm "Back to work you!" The hag said. Kagome kept working while watching.

The little girl had to be 6 or 7, covered in dirt and looked like she was in need of a good meal.

"Her parents are dead and shes a little food thief, I'm done dealing with her, what will you give me for her" Kagome heard the man said to her master,

The men traded money and the girl was thrown to the dirt. Kagomes legs moved of their own accord and she dashed to pick the girl up. The man laughed as he drove away on his horse and cart and her pig demon master looked down at her, unhappy she could tell.

"Please don't hurt her, she's so small"

He sneered, but didn't hit her "Very well, you can do her chores tonight if you care for her to rest, clean her up, she is your problem now, if she gets out of line, it is you who will be punished," He said through snorts. He walked away and Kagome looked at the child "Whats you name?"

"Rin"

Kagome smiled "Ok Rin lets get you cleaned up"

"Hey what about this deer!" The old woman yelled "Sorry master said to clean her"

Kagome smiled as she walked away to the brook with child, knowing the old woman would have to finish the deer herself.

Kagome also cleaned as she cleaned the little girl. The child didn't talk much but just did as Kagome asked. Kagome felt so bad for the little girl, she knew what it was like losing a parent to death.

"Come, if we don't hurry, we don't eat"

Kagome's work was not worth much that day, she got on bread biscuit and one bowl of soup, the child was only offered bread. Kagome gave Rin her soup and watched as the poor child ate it with much haste.

Kagome quickly became the girl's guardian, though at 16 she was far from a mother. Rin did get into a lot of trouble to which Kagome did pay. One day when they woke they were put in chains, and Kagome was sure it was because of something Rin did, but news was traveling fast of war, and their master didn't want them stolen or saved, so everyone was chained and was guarded at all time. Kagome was allowed her bow, for protection, they knew she would not raise it against them, she was to weak to be that foolish.

But she did raise it to someone she probably shouldn't have she just knew they were going to kill her. He looked human enough and had a nice smile and a tail. She quickly learned he was a southern Lord and his name was Kouga. To her surprise he said nothing of her raising her bow to him to her master and even winked at her as he left, she was slightly confused.

War was spreading and Kouga came to visit often, and he would bring her things, in secret. Fruit here, candy there, small things that she would share with Rin. She thought maybe he would save her one day, of course, that hope vanished when he asked if she would become his concubine, that didn't go over well and he left with his tail between his legs, and she didn't eat that night for the stunt. Her master made it very clear that he would not sale her and told her to stop being a slut, to which she rolled her eyes, after he was gone of course.

The next day Kagome was met with punishment in the form of Rin. Her master was just sure that Kagome had begged Kouga to buy her that it pissed im off and he decided to sell Rin. Kagome yelled, begged and screamed for them not to sell her which was met with whips to the back.

Rin was sold to tree passing men and Kagome just knew she would be dead in a matter of days. The whips to the back and the blood hat rushed to meet her skin where nothing compared to the pain her mind was in over Rin.

Kagome cried out in agony, not because of pain of being whipped but of the pain of losing Rin, her home and her freedom. The fairytale Kagome had so longed for was now so far out of reach of her mind that it gave way to fear, her hope quickly drowning, the small fire within her slowly dying.

This was life, this was hell, this was a pure nightmare, only she wasnt dreaming.
