Three hours, twenty-six minutes, and eight seconds later, Aomine failed to digest all these numbers written on the textbook. How could this be so complicated? Did his Math teacher really discuss this?
He honestly couldn't remember…or he probably slept in class again.
Where's Satsuki when you need her?
Oh yeah. She was out to gather data.
Man, he rather play basketball than do this stupid homework.
But he couldn't.
Akashi banned him from going to club practice after being informed about his grades. Of course, low grades would prevent him from playing in the games and the redhead would have none of it.
So here he was, stuck inside this library with the librarian as his sole companion.
How delightful.
"Aomine-kun."
Aomine bit his tongue and tried to hold in the pain. Really, really tried.
No matter how long he had spent his time with Kuroko, Aomine would always get surprised. The bastard and his misdirection. He swore that the smaller boy was doing it on purpose.
Annoyed and angry, he whipped his head to Kuroko and open his mouth to complain. But then he caught the librarian's perpetual frown marring her face, ready to give him hell if he dared make a noise in her library.
And to be honest, Aomine found this librarian scarier than ghosts, not that he believed in them to begin with.
So he swallowed everything he wanted to shout and instead said, "What is it, Tetsu?"
"You didn't come to practice today. Akashi-kun said you're punished for being an idiot," Kuroko said with a straight face. "So I thought you'll be here."
"Sorry for being an idiot," Aomine grunted. Then an idea came up. "Hey, since you're here, why don't you help me with this?"
Kuroko glanced the homework, then back to Aomine. "I'm sorry. Math isn't my best subject. But I can if you're having trouble with History and Geography."
"You're not helping me at all."
"Why don't you ask Akashi-kun to help you?"
"I rather die than suffer."
He watched Kuroko pull out a chair and sat beside him. Not too close, not too far, just enough.
"I can stay here and watch you suffer, if you want."
Aomine grumbled, saying Akashi had been rubbing off on Kuroko, before he continued his homework.
Of course, Kuroko ignored the comment and opened a book he picked up to read.
No words were exchanged after that.
Just two boys enjoying each other's company.
