I watched her grow.

Maria ran to me, her blonde curls bouncing. She handed me a iris she had picked. "Here, Roderich! I picked this for you!" I picked her up and gave her a rare smile.

"Thank you, Maria," I hugged the five-year old in my arms. She hugged back.

I watched her take the crown.

The Pragmatic Sanction hadn't worked but that didn't stop Maria. On her wedding day, I stood in the shadows as she married a man that wasn't me. She looked happy as they placed the crown on her head. Her father's wishes were finally being carried out.

She stepped onto the balcony and greeted her people. They loved her and that made my love for her only deepen.

I watched as she fretted over the future of me, her kingdom.

I stood in front of the council, Gilbert had seized Silesia. The council men were in deep thought, Maria looked extremely worried. "We need a plan of action," I stated, the only ally I had was Arthur. He was a strong fighter but it wasn't enough. We were up against Francis and Antonio as well.

She looked at me and I realized that I shouldn't worry. Maria was a strong woman, she wouldn't let anything happen to her people.

I watched her as she begged Hungary for help.

"Please save Austria! It is up to you!" Maria pleaded, her son sleeping in her arms. The Hungarian nobility stared at her. I looked over at Elizaveta, for once I couldn't read her face.

This repeated every day until the nobility sent help. Every time I saw Maria after, I felt like crying.

"This strong woman begged for help," I stated one day during tea. Elizaveta looked at me.

"What, Roderich?" She asked, setting the teapot in front of me.

"Nothing," I looked out the window at the sky.

I stood at her grave.

The rain pounded on the umbrella I was holding, it didn't stop the rain from getting on my glasses but for once I didn't mind. I stopped a few feet from the headstone.

I stood in front of Maria Theresa's final resting place. It had been almost two-hundred years since the day she was placed here. Gilbert stood a few yards back watching me as a placed a bouquet of irises on her grave.

"Roderich," Gilbert paused. "You'll miss your plane if you wait any longer."

I nodded, "I know." I walked towards Gilbert and he ran under the umbrella. He patted my arm and led me back to my house away from the only woman I had ever loved.

I went emo again….. Hell, I made Roddy emo too! This is a collection of drabbles about Austria and Maria Theresa in case you couldn't tell. I wrote this because 1) there was NOTHING about Maria Theresa on here, 2) I thought it would be cute and 3) it wouldn't get out of my head. Also when it said only woman he ever loved, I have nothing Hungary. (or Prussia for that matter)
