My first Teen Titans story. I hope it takes off; you know how it is when you're feeling inspired. I really want to complete this story so support would be greatly appreciated, as well as constructive criticism.

East Coast of Gotham, Dr. Shock's Laboratory

11:00 PM

She felt the rain assault her face, despite the protection of the ten-foot glass window. A show of plants gripping to the ground for dear life, accompanied by an occasional bolt of lightning – it amused her. The unforgiving winds along with the piercing rain was decent to look at, she figured, but what won her over was the strikes of perfectly executed thunder bolts, springing life into the dull, drowning sky. Removing her hand from place of her cheek left it feeling numb – how long had she been sitting there? On days like this, there was hardly anything to do. Normally, she would be out and about, with no doubts; a careless soul to roam around the city at her own pace. She liked to take it easy. Live it out. Her whole body was relieved after she stretched her arms out and her spine inwards, a weight spontaneously pulling on her eyelids, letting them droop. She felt herself fall under a sleepy trace, but shook her head at the sound of an automatic door opening behind her.

Those footsteps…they sounded panicked – in a rush; It was the first thing she noticed when her father paced in, his eyes examining the folder he usually carried around. The tall man was shaking his head, hardening his expression, however, not enough to look irritated – mildly bothered. He turned. Then faced the other way, avoiding her curious eyes. His back faced her as he proceeded into the next room, the doors closing behind him.

Of course something was wrong, and she had nothing else better to do.

He was rapidly scribbling words onto the documents his folder held, his handwriting barley legible. Not that it mattered – he understood it, and he was a solo act. The pen marked the period and he almost slammed it down onto his desk. The door opened and he sighed heavily, staying in place, "Gabby, you know not to disturb me when I'm busy."

Gabby did not respond, taking two more steps into the room – the doors sealed shut, dimming the room. Her father knew she was still there, but decided to ignore it, switching on a large device which returned an artificial glow to the area. The brightness of the massive screen took her worn eyes by surprise, causing them to shrivel as a hand flung up in their defence, attempting to block the light. His attention was set on the USB drive by his side. He pressed it into a port, his hands swinging to the left, dancing on the keyboard. Gabby had walked to the other side of the room, her glasses raised as she rubbed her stinging eyes. She just wanted to call it a night, but until her father told her what was bugging him, she would not cease to bug him either.

"Aaaand, there! Now where is it?"

He was talking to himself, she knew that, but what exactly was he talking about? She wanted to know: "What's the deal?"

"I know I have blueprints for this tool here somewhere – if I can find it."

Gabby arched an eyebrow, "Tool? Don't you have enough tools to last you?"

The man suddenly rose, his chair spun backwards, "Remind me to sort out my documents! Where is the blasted thing?"

A tab was open; she could not keep up with the pace he was scrolling down at. Whatever he was skipping was clearly of irrelevance to him. She scratched her neck, knowing he was under pressure, "I do tell you to sort out your documents – not that you do. Maybe you just don't have it after all?"

His hand was removed from the mouse and placed to the centre of his wrinkly forehead, pinching the skin into a compressed lump, "Ugh…I think you're right. I haven't used these blueprints in such a long time I don't even know what's happened to half of them…"

"Um, what did you need exactly? From the blueprints?" Gabby questioned, feeling that now was a good time to ask.

However, he shook his hand to and fro, gesturing her to dismiss it, "Never mind – it's nothing. I just…need to do some research. There has to be someone out there with the tool I'm looking for! This was an inspired blueprint. Not original."

"Well I'm sure you'll find someone with the piece of metal you're looking for pops; I'm going to head to my bed now, alright?"

Her father had already grabbed the chair and fell into the possession of his computer again as his daughter practically sleepwalking out of the room, leaving him to his speciality.

Jump City, Titan Tower

12:00 AM

It was midnight at the tower. A group of teenagers were gathered by the couch, each having a different expression on their face.

Robin, as always, had maintained a serious expression, stiffened by the dead atmosphere of the room.

Raven, mirroring the stern look of Robin, only, she looked as though she was in deep thought.

Cyborg, looking quite on edge and uncomfortable, though he stayed perfectly still.

Finally, Starfire, who was fidgeting with her hands and frowning, looking at each member of the team with a desperate sadness in her eyes.

"When is friend Beast Boy going to be returning? It is already the start of the next day and he has not come back!"

Robin, who was sat next to her, placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, "I'm sure Beast Boy will be back, Star. He probably just wants some time to himself…"

"And have us here worried sick about him? I know he ain't like that Robin – we should be looking for him."

Cyborg's response snapped Raven out of her thoughts.

Robin sighed, "I suggest we stay here for the night. If Beast Boy isn't back by then, then we can search the city for him. Until then, we need to let him make up his mind – it's unfair to keep pestering him at a time like this."

"I agree with Robin," Raven spoke, "Beast Boy needs to make this decision without us…"

Cyborg and Starfire both looked surprised, with a mix of disappointment. As Beast Boy's best friend, the largest member of the team was not handling this too well. It was stressing him out, knowing he could be out there, possibly sinking into an unescapable depression. It was Terra. That was the only person Beast Boy was thinking about that day. Cyborg was tightly clenching his fists, his facial features tensing up; he wanted to say something, but he could not find the words.

Starfire looked innocently baffled, "But why do you want to leave him on his own? What if he needs support from his friends?!" She complained, hovering off of the couch.

"It could drive him further away from us. The mentality of an emotionally disturbed person can be dangerously unpredictable. We don't know how he will receive our support, so if he wants it, he'll come back here himself. Us dragging him here isn't going to work." Raven explained in her usual monotone voice.

Starfire's shoulders slouched down, her head hanging, "Oh, why must this happen? Our friend, so troubled and lost!" She covered her face with her hands, shaking her head frantically.

No one else was speaking. Robin took charge again, "Get some rest Starfire. He'll be back tomorrow – I'm sure."

"I ain't."

Robin and Cyborg were staring at one another, each having a contrasting attitude toward the situation. Raven was over with the rising tension and left the room, planning on a sleepless night. Starfire had eventually given in and agreed to wait until tomorrow morning for any signs of Beast Boy. Robin was still looking at Cyborg, who had his arms crossed.

"Are you staying here then?"

The robotic human grunted, "I'll stay here all right."

Knowing there was no point in arguing, Robin nodded, leaving to get some sleep.

The room was silent again; Cyborg relaxed – he was looking for his best friend, without the others, whether they liked it or not.

East Coast Gotham, Dr. Shock's Laboratory

1:30 AM

Doctor Shock was dashing up the staircase in a mad hurry, nearly tripping at the last step. He swept over to the white door on his right, hesitating to knock. Gently, he pushed it open, relieved his daughter had not locked it – she must have forgotten. He quickly tip-toed over to the sleeping girl, nudging her on the back.

"Gabby…Gabby, wake up."

Groaning, her eyes creaked open, her pupils contracting as she focused on her father, "What?"

"Listen to me; I know you're very tired but I've managed to locate the exact screwdriver I need for the invention I'm working on. I really need it as soon as possible, honestly."

Gabby narrowed her eyes, already knowing where he was going with this, "Do you realise what time it is?"

"Sweetie, please! It's my only hope – I mean, you're my only hope! I'm begging you!"

She pushed him back, sliding off her bed reluctantly, "Okay! I get it! I'll get the stupid thing for ya, okay?"

The scientist let out a huge sigh of relief, his calm gaze thanking her. He handed her a sheet of paper – the results from his late night research. She took her glasses off her drawer and fixed them on, then opening the drawer to take out a small radar which attached onto the right side of her glasses. The drawer below was opened, revealing two glowing amulets – her power source. They emitted a stunning yellow glow as she reached for them; without touching the amulets, they levitated at her control.

Doctor Shock switched on the light, "I'll leave you to it." He said before leaving.

Gabby murmured something under her breath as he shut the door. She placed one of the amulets to her chest – in a particular position so that it appeared to look like the letter 'N': the amulets she possessed were the Pole amulets, taking the shape of the letter 'N' or 'S' depending which way you turned them. The other amulet, still levitating with a glow, was set down on the bed. The girl turned to her wardrobe, pulling out a silver belt with two red buttons on either side. She pressed the buttons together, splitting the metallic belt into two halves, then placed both sides around her waist, pushing the sides back together, attached by the red buttons. She took control of the amulet on her bedside, placing it at the front of the belt in the 'S' position.

"And now for the gloves…and shoes."

Gabby pulled out some black and yellow gloves, along with similarly coloured footwear. She put the gloves on first, then the shoes, sighing by the end of it. Her hand traced around the curtain above her bed, making a crack in the centre so she could peer out the window.

"Hmm, the storm has calmed down a bit." She observed, noticing that the winds had dramatically rested. The rain, however, was going to be a problem.

Looking back down at the paper, she searched for a location, names, addresses – anything to see how far she would be going…and who she would be dealing with. The text stated the following: "Nanodriver – Jump City, Titan Tower. In the possession of Cyborg of the Teen Titans."

Her eyes widened a little at the picture of the boy – it was apparent he had no idea his picture was being taken.

"Where does he get the information?" Gabby wondered. Surely, her father was not associating himself with shady characters on the internet – heaven forbid it.

She did not give it a second thought as the sound of heavy rain filled her ears again, "I'm going to need a raincoat…"

Jump City, Central Park

3:30 AM

One hour had felt like an eternity to the two titans since they left the tower. Cyborg had his foot pressed down on the pedal, scanning the streets for the hundredth time. The one eye he still had was looking out the window rather than watching the road. However, an occasional civilian would be seen out at a time like this, so Cyborg had little to worry about. His concern was for his best friend.

Starfire spotted the titan car and flew down, joining Cyborg's speed as she arrived next to his window. He rolled the window down, but she only shook her head, looking gutted. Cyborg gritted his teeth and slammed on the breaks, shutting his eyes, "We ain't going to find him at the rate."

The Tamaranean faced back to the now stationary car, frowning as Cyborg stepped out of the vehicle, "Are we still looking for him?"

Cyborg did not answer. Thoughtfully, he looked down, pondering something. If they wanted to find Beast Boy, they would have to put themselves in his shoes.

"Now if I were Beast Boy on a bad day…where would I go?"

Starfire tilted her head; she was not sure herself, "We have already checked the Pizza Corner, the other fast food restaurants and even the place Video Dome used to be! He is nowhere!"

"He's somewhere Star…maybe he left the city."

Starfire gasped, "We must look for him! This instant!"

Before she could turn to leave, Cyborg raised his hand, signalling her to stay, "No. We should wait until tomorrow, gather every hero we know and look for him if he ain't back. We're only two people Starfire."

Starfire understood. Both of them entered the car, turning back to the Titan Tower before anyone noticed they were gone.

Jump City, Murakami High School

3:45 AM

It was freezing. The young boy felt himself shiver, but he did not care. He took it in; let it all painfully sink in, like a set of canines. Though outside of an animal form, Beast Boy felt caged up as if he were in a zoo, though, it was merely the fences of the Murakami High School sport field he was glaring at. It was a hidden sanctuary of lonely depression. He could not be found; he would not be found. But, his instincts were slowly taking over again – it had been hours since he had seen a comforting face. The only person in mind was Terra. The question was not just how she escaped her stony grave, but why she did not want to remember. Why did she not want to talk to him? Why did she act so strange? Like she wanted to be left alone, so did Beast Boy. However, he was not like Terra. He was snapping out of thought at that moment, shivering more violently.

"I need to go back…" He muttered softly, "I wonder if they've been looking for me."

They had tried contacting him through his communicator, but the distressed boy had pulled the batteries out of it. Only now was he placing them back in, sniffling as he did so. He felt himself catching a cold, and stood up, deciding the best thing to do would be to move on…like Terra.

He started thinking about her again, but shook his head rapidly, "Face it BB! She's not coming back…" He yelled, toning down at the last part. It was all so hopeless.

A nearby tree was his way out, he figured. The shapeshifter took the form of a squirrel and scurried over, climbing the tree in a matter of seconds. As he reached the top branch, he froze as headlights of a car flashed further down the road. Under closer inspection, Beast Boy realised it was the Titan car passing by. He went unnoticed, but he noticed Cyborg and Starfire in the front seats, looking troubled as ever. He felt a wave of guilt overcome him, but did not chase after the car. No. It was too early for that talk. No doubt, he would be back at the Titan Tower by sunrise, but for now he just wanted to wander the streets…alone.

He leaped down, shifting into a cat. Cat's had good night vision, true, but he just wanted to prowl down the streets with ease – to try and relax himself. The piercing wind was less a problem as his fur insulated him well enough. It was like taking a trip down memory lane. Yesterday, when he had taken Terra to Pizza Corner; his feline eyes stared it down. Their lights were still buzzing, a friendly welcome to order pizza any time of the day one liked. Beast Boy was not hungry – empty, but not hungry. Soon he was met with an ally way; the cat kind of place. Something was telling him to go in, so he followed his instincts again, wandering down the narrow lane. Drains were leaking, a green puddle forming under each one. There was an odour, quite strong – it did not bother him. The ally was filled with sacks of garbage bags, carelessly sprawled across the ground, or tightly packed together in a messy bundle.

An oddly shaped bag crossed Beast Boy's vision. Why was in in such a strange position? He crept up closer, getting a better look at it. Wait – it was no garbage bag. He jumped behind a pile of scrambled bricks, peeking over at the hunched figure. He could not tell whether it was a boy or girl. But whatever it was, it stood up swiftly, staring in the direction of the Titan Tower. The person grabbed a trash can lid, dumping something rectangular into it, and sighed, "Might a well take this off." It said, removing a coat.

Beast Boy's cat ears twitched taking in the voice; he detected it as that of a female. When the figure turned around, he was proven right. Her entire appearance was exposed to him, and of all things, she looked like a superhero. It was the costume – it was odd, but very memorable. To Beast Boy, it triggered something; the black, the yellow…thoughts of Terra were flooding back in.

The girl before him, however, was not Terra.

She turned, switching on something at the back of her belt: it was a jetpack. She lifted off the ground, not leaving a trace of smoke as she flew up high. Beast boy took a few steps back to get a better view. It was such an unexpected encounter. He felt a mix of feelings – yes, he wanted to know who exactly she was, but he felt it was none of his business. For that instant he was thinking about what to do, he looked back up to see that she was gone, leaving no trace of which direction she had headed. Now he had missed the opportunity completely. A new question lingered in his mind: what had she dumped back there?

Beast Boy transformed back into his human form, jogging up to the trash can. His hand dove to the bottom, retrieving the object. When he could get a good look at it, his eyebrows dropped and his eyes squinted – it was just a solid black cover, nothing much – most likely why she dumped it in there. Though, his gloved hand felt something crinkle underneath, leading him to flip the hardcover folder around. A gasp suddenly escaped his lips as he eyed the ripped piece of paper left in the folder: a picture of Cyborg. Bizarre, he thought…no, suspicious; he needed to follow that girl – she was up to something. Unfortunately for the young boy, the paper had been ripped, and besides from that picture he could not gather any more information. But, he knew one thing for sure, she wanted Cyborg, or at least something from him, and he was not going to let that happen.

Jump City, Outskirts

3:50 AM

By then, Cyborg and Starfire had almost returned home. Little did they know, they were being watched by a pair of yellow eyes in the distance. Gabby was following the car, having a hunch it belonged to the guy she was looking for. Her jetpack boosted her closer; she peered down into the car driver's window and surely enough, his face rung many bells. Smiling, she quickly came up with a plan that might earn her a ride, and she accelerated ahead of the car before it could reach the Titan Tower.

"I do not think I will be going back to my bedroom. I cannot sleep." Starfire announced, breaking the silence between them.

"…Me neither…want to just play some video games to kill time." He suggested, sounding rather unenthusiastic about it.

Starfire sat up straight, "Um, okay…will it be of assistance to you?"

"Hm?"

"Playing the video games – is it how you cope?"

Cyborg considered this; he had only brought it up since neither of them would be getting any sleep, but she did make a good point. Video games would always take his mind off of something he did not want to think about. This was not just something, he realised, it was his best friend on his mind, not some spilt milk. He mentally scolded himself and shook his head, "Never mind. I'll just…whip us up something to eat instead; tomorrow may be a long day for us."

Starfire nodded, turning her head back to the window and staring out at the crooked, leafless trees they passed by. Slowly, she felt herself dozing off, but a sudden glow sparked her full attention. It was further off in the distance, and they were approaching it. Now she was on the edge of her seat, gawking at it – the light illuminated that of a fallen body, and she let out a sharp gasp, "Stop! Stop the car!"

He slammed down on the breaks, giving his alien friend a puzzled look, "What? Do you see BB?!"

Starfire swung the door open, flying toward the unconscious body lying on the icy ground. Her eyes were lingering open; her mouth slightly parted, letting out a small grunt of pain. What stood out to Starfire was the two glowing amulets on her chest and belt, but she directed her attention back to the girl herself.

"Are you alright?" She asked, lifting up her head. Gabby always looked pale, but to Starfire, she looked sick, "Are you feeling the unwell?"

She opened her eyes a little more, noticing the car she was following had stopped and put her plan into action, "M-my head…where am I?"

Cyborg soon stood next to Starfire, also looking down at Gabby. They were both under the impression that something bad had happened to her, which is exactly what she wanted.

"Man, what happened to you?" Cyborg asked gently, kneeling down.

"I…I don't know. One minute, I'm flying around and the next, something just strikes me, and I fell."

Starfire raised her eyebrows, "Strike?"

Cyborg put a metallic hand to his chin, "Flying?"

"With my jetpack." Gabby clarified, pointing to the back of her belt, "I was just roaming the city for any signs of trouble."

"Oh! You must be like us!" Starfire beamed, "Do you fight the crime? Or have any superpowers?"

Cyborg spoke up, "Starfire, I don't think now is a good time. We need to take her back to the Tower and make sure she ain't injured."

Gabby looked up to him with a smile of gratitude, however, it was far from genuine. Completing her first task was much easier than expected, now she had to try and get what she wanted as soon as she could. Though, she knew that the second part of her mission could take a lot longer, and take much more effort. Whatever she had to do for her father, she was doing it. The large cyborg lifted her up, causing her to widen her eyes for a second.

"I'm guessing you don't have a place to stay for the night."

Gabby eased herself, shaking her head slowly.

Taking pity, Starfire lunged into the conversation, "Do not worry! We will take good care of you!"

Her words made Gabby feel a little shame, but she did not care – she was not here to make friends. Cyborg set her down in the back seat, fastening her seatbelt and getting into the front. Rather than getting into the passenger seat, Starfire flew up high, "I will fly back to the Tower and prepare a meal for our guest!" She said aloud, before zooming off ahead.

Cyborg grinned, "That's Star for you."

Gabby looked over to him, "It's very kind of ya to do this."

He turned to her, resting his giant arm on the back of the seat, "Did you think we'd just leave you there? That ain't how the Teen Titans operate."

"…the Teen Titans, huh?" She questioned, pretending she had not found out from her father already.

Cyborg let out a chuckle, "Yep, that's us alright!" He confirmed, starting up the car, "We're a team who puts an end to crime in Jump City, though…one of our members ain't exactly with us at the moment."

Gabby felt the small vibrations of the car as it rolled over the slightly rocky road – they were entering the outskirts of the city. She focused on the conversation, "If you don't mind me asking, who exactly is this member. I may have saw them somewhere before blacking out."

He sensed a little hope, feeling obliged to tell her, "Well, he's a short guy, wears a purple and black jumpsuit, green skin, pointy ears and has messy green hair. He also has the ability to shape shift into any animal."

"Really?" She asked rhetorically, not letting him finish, "That sounds neat."

"He's a very effective member of the team." Cyborg proclaimed.

"Mmm…though, I' m afraid I have not seen him."

Cyborg sighed, looking back to the road, "It's alright, we're going to send a search party for him later today anyways."

Although she had sounded interested, she was not. Until she caught a glimpse of a green blur from the side mirror on the passenger's side of the car. Her eyes narrowed in confusion – it appeared to be an animal…but it was green? Not to mention, it was slowly catching up with the car; close enough for Gabby to infer two things: it was a cheetah, and it was holding a picture of Cyborg in its mouth. The girl stiffened up in shock, she was putting two and two together at a rapid pace. That must be Beast Boy and he must have spotted her in the ally way. She knew this could ruin her chances of earning Cyborgs trust – the picture was way too suspicious, and surely the green titan would snake her out. Beads of sweat began forming on her head, she desperately looked for something she could use to slow him down, but in a sudden twist of fate, the shapeshifter tripped over a pothole, releasing the picture from his mouth – Gabby slouched back in relief as the paper began follow the wind, which lead it away from the car and away from Beast Boy.

He whimpered in pain as his chin scraped roughly against the rocky road. He felt that the paper was no longer in his mouth and looked up in horror as it was carried away by the draft. The green cheetah scrambled to his feet, shapeshifting into a bird and soared toward it, pecking as it danced in the wind. As much as he tried, he could not get a hold of it. Suddenly, it swept down, landing in the surrounding sea of water. Beast Boy squawked, transforming into a seal to dive after it. His head popped out of the water, scanning the sea surface for the paper, and soon enough he saw it, hightailing after it. To his surprise, however, it suddenly sank; he dove his head under the water to see a catfish munching on it, immediately leaving at the sight of Beast Boy.

His jaw hung open: he had lost his evidence.

Gabby had not seen him for a couple of minutes after that, but she knew that he would still be on her case and had to think of something. An idea suddenly entered her head and she started talking to Cyborg again, "I don't mean to sound random, but does this Beast Boy person happen to stay green when he turns into an animal?"

Cyborg raised his eyebrow sceptically, "Yeah…how'd you know that?"

"I didn't." She replied, "After everything you told me, I'm starting to remember what happened to me earlier."

"You mean when you crashed?" Cyborg asked, raising his tone, "What's any of that got to do with Beast Boy?"

Gabby looked up, "I'm not saying it has anything to do with him…it's just a coincidence, now that I can recall what happened."

"What happened then?"

She took a breath, "All I remember was seeing something approach me in the sky. It looked like a large bird…but for some odd reason, all of its feathers were green. I stared at it for a little while, and then it suddenly attacked me. After that I blacked out."

"Woah woah, wait!" Cyborg cried, raising his hands up, "Are you sure? A large green bird attacked you, and you think it may have been BB, of all people?!"

Gabby furrowed her brows, "I'm not saying it was him at all! I've never even met the guy – I doubt he has anything against me. I just know for a fact that's what attacked me!"

Now this was a lie. She knew it was, but she had to make it as subtly believable as possible, or it would sound like a set up. Cyborg was not completely falling for it, but she did not want him to yet; that was going to happen later on. The sound of rain lingered in the background; Gabby scowled – it had followed her to a completely different city.

"It is dark out Miss, perhaps you just thought it was green – that bird could not have been BB."

Gabby slowly took his words in, staying silent for a brief few seconds before nodding, "If you say so…I just hope you're right – I don't want to make any enemies."

"Don't worry about it, I won't mention it to him…that is, if we find him."

Finally, the car pulled up; they were parked outside of the Titan Tower.

Jump City, Titan Tower

4:00 AM

When the doors spilt open, Starfire practically grabbed the girl, leading her in by the hand, "Welcome to the Titan Tower! I've prepared some pancakes!" She squealed happily, lifting the fresh batch of pancakes up to Gabby's face. She jumped, giving a sheepish smile, "Oh, uh, thanks!" She said, taking the plate from her. Cyborg motioned toward the couch, "Make yourself at home." He welcomed warmly. Gabby had been navigating through harsh weather for quite some time and was thrilled to be able to sit down and relax. In the back of her mind, she knew that green shapeshifter would be arriving soon; she was preparing herself for that encounter. Starfire plopped down next to her, leaning in a little, "My name, in your language, is Starfire." She introduced, "What name do you go by?"

Gabby swallowed the piece of pancake in her mouth, "Just call me Gabby."

"Oh, are you talkative?"

Gabby raised an eyebrow, leading Cyborg to swiftly answer the question, "Star, Gabby is just another name for 'Gabriella'."

Starfire noted this, "So your name is Gabriella?"

"Yep." Gabby nodded, "But I prefer to be called 'Gabby'."

"Very well, Gabby! That is how I shall refer to you from now on!" She stated cheerfully.

Gabby could already tell that Starfire would be an easy target. She acted like a child, and children are typically naïve. Cyborg, on the other hand, would take a little more effort to win over, but very soon that would all change.

Beast Boy entered the building, dripping wet – his chin still stung. There was a storm stirring in his mind as he trudged in, his shoes making a squishy sound each step he took. He wiped his nose as it ran a little – now he knew he was sick. Jumping into the ocean was not the best idea, but he wanted the evidence to show Cyborg. Beat Boy was unsure how he was going to expose the girl from earlier without the evidence. Nevertheless, he kept his pace constant, beginning to approach the headquarters.

Within the headquarters, Gabby suddenly had the urge to use the toilet, "Um, mind pointing in the direction of the bathroom?" She asked them both.

They both pointed toward the main entrance and Gabby quickly thanked them, speed-walking in that direction. The doors slid open as she got near enough, like they doors she had at home. She had only took a few steps before freezing in place.

Gabby and Beast Boy were both staring at each other, neither moving nor reacting.

It was short lasted as Beast Boy's eyes glared daggers at her. Normally, he would not resort to anger, but right now, he was pissed. After everything he had been through today, there was no holding back. Before she knew it, Gabby was pinned to the ground as a large, green lion bared his razor sharp fangs at her.

She feared for her life.

A blood-curling scream echoed through the corridor.

At once, Robin, Cyborg and Starfire all entered the scene, each of them having the same reaction.

"Beast Boy! What are you doing!?" Starfire yelled in disbelief.

Beast Boy felt Robin's arm wrap around his neck, pulling his head upwards, further away from Gabby.

"Cut it out, now!" Robin commanded sharply, causing Beast Boy to transform back into human form. Robin let go, looking at him with a stern disappointment in his expression.

Beast Boy pointed a finger to Gabby, "Leave this place! You're not welcome here!" He spat.

Gabby, knowing the situation was in her favour, flipped the tables, "What is wrong with you?! Why do you want to hurt me so bad?!"

"I don't!" He barked, "I don't want you to hurt anyone!"

Before she could reply, Cyborg stepped up to his friend, an annoyed look on his face, "You're the only person doing any damn harm here. What do you keep attacking her for?"

Beast Boy looked puzzled, "What do you mean by that?"

"You know exactly what I mean BB! If anyone ain't welcome here right now, it's you. You acting like a madman!"

He was taken aback by Cyborg's words, but retaliated, "What the heck Cyborg? What are you defending her for? She's stalking you! I swear!"

"WHAT?!" Gabby shrieked, "No I'm not!"

"Then why did you throw away a picture of him earlier? Explain that!"

Gabby narrowed her eyes, "I don't know what you're talking about! I don't own a picture of him!" She lied.

Robin spoke up, "You're saying she had a picture of Cyborg in her possession?"

"Yeah, she did!"

Robin became intrigued; there appeared to be two sides of the story here, "Alright, can we see it?"

Beast Boy hesitated, giving Gabby an opportunity to strike, "Well? Go on! Show us this picture I apparently had of him!"

"I lost it…" He muttered bitterly.

"No." Gabby countered, "It's because I never had a picture of him! You're trying to set me up!"

Everyone turned back to Beast Boy, who was becoming infuriated – very unlike him, "JUST OWN UP!"

"I can't own up because you're LYING!" She hissed.

Beast Boy quickly turned to Cyborg, who appeared to be losing faith in him, "Listen, Cyborg! You have to believe me! I was trying to show you the picture when you were driving to the Tower, but I tripped and dropped it into the ocean – I swear."

He did not respond. Beast Boy grabbed his hair and squeezed it, water escaping his locks, "I'm all wet, see?! I dove in after it!"

"It's raining outside." Gabby responded, "Can you just stop lying?"

Beast Boy became silent again; Cyborg turned away, shaking his head; Starfire look absolutely devastated at him; Robin had his arms crossed, not saying a word for once.

The corridor was silent.

"I actually still need the toilet." Gabby suddenly said, walking past Robin and Beast Boy.

He looked back as she entered the restroom, feeling defeated. He turned back to the others, who were still the same position – he knew there was no convincing them.

"I should have never come back." He growled, stomping away from them.

"No!" Starfire cried, but did not follow after him.

Cyborg watched him leave, staying silent.

"I'm going to need an explanation." Robin said, unfolding his arms.

Outside the Tower

He was outside the Tower once again, the icy winds accompanied by the rain letting him sink back into a depression he thought he had gotten over. The boy felt like crying his eyes out, but he just simply had none left. Betrayal – that's what he felt. His entire team betrayed him, over some random girl they had only just met.

It was injustice.

Before taking another step, he realised the rain was no longer hitting his head. Beast Boy's eyes shot up, meeting Raven's.

"I heard everything." She revealed.

He let out a heavy sigh, sitting down, as did Raven.

"They won't believe me." He sniffed, twiddling his thumbs, "They believed her, but not me."

His voice was growing raspy, Raven noticed, "Do you want to tell me what happened…indoors?"

Beast Boy turned to her, smiling, "Yeah. That'd be nice."

Raven's Bedroom

After explaining everything in as much detail as he could manage, he looked into Raven's eyes with a desperate gaze. She looked back at him, not moving her face.

"You believe me, right?"

He was truly expecting her to say 'no', but to his surprise, she replied differently, "I believe you."

"Finally!" He cried, raising his arms up, "Dude, I just know she's up to something!"

Raven thought about this. Beast Boy seemed convinced that this girl was nothing more than an enemy to them, but like he had said earlier, it could be something else, "Don't you think that maybe she just likes Cyborg and doesn't want to admit it?"

His expression fell, "You mean, you also think she's stalking him?"

Raven shrugged, "'Stalk' is a strong word."

"Well whatever it is, it's weird. I really don't want her here Rae!"

She could understand his judgement, but was not about to try and kick someone out of the Tower; she believed herself that Gabby's intentions were harmless, "I doubt we can do anything about that."

"Hrmph." He grunted, folding his arms, "I'm going to keep my distance from her."

"Something tells me you're going to do the complete opposite of that." Raven replied.

"What? I'm not the stalker here!" Beast Boy exclaimed, pointing to himself.

Raven rolled her eyes, "Whatever."

Her bedroom door slid open as Beast Boy poked his head out, looking both ways. He crept out, deciding he was just going to get some sleep. He had spent half the night thinking about Terra…but he would probably end up dreaming about her too. As he made his way to his bedroom, he heard some loud chatter from the headquarters. Of course, he followed the noise, curious as to what the rest were talking about.

"They're probably talking about me." He thought to himself, transforming into bat and pressing his large ear to the wall.

"Are you sure that's what happened Gabby? That really doesn't sound like something Beast Boy would do."

That was Robin's voice.

"I thought the same thing about an hour ago, and look what he just did."

Beast Boy frowned at Cyborg's reply.

"I really don't know why he attacked me. I can swear to you I have never spoken to him before."

He pulled a face; it was her voice.

"Why must Beast Boy do this! I've missed him so much and just want to see him back to normal!"

Starfire's words stretched him frown even further.

"I'm going to have to ask Beast Boy about this."

Beast Boy heard Robin's footsteps grow close, and he quickly transformed into a snake, slithering back to his room before Robin could spot him. The boy wonder himself was heading in the direction of Beast Boy's room, knocking twice when he reached his door.

"Come in." Beast Boy answered, wanting to know everything Gabby had rumoured about him.

The door slid open, revealing Robin, who looked surprised to see him there. He steeped in, taking a seat by his bedside. Looking around, the amounts of dirty laundry and pizza boxes piled up in every corner of the room was beginning to make him feel claustrophobic, "When are you going to tidy this place?"

"Beats me." He said, shrugging, "So, what do you want?"

"You know the answer to that."

Beast Boy pouted, "Whatever she told you guys was a lie." He claimed, pointing at him.

Robin could sense his determination, feeling a little torn between stories, "You definitely think she's lying."

"One hundred and fifty percent!"

Robin shifted in his seat, "Gabby told us that you had attacked her."

Beast Boy grumbled, "You know that, Robin! You saw me do it, and I regret it, okay!"

"No, not that one." Robin responded, "Around quarter to four she said you attacked her while she was flying over the city."

His eyes grew wide, his pupils shrinking, "Wait, WHAT?! I never attacked her at that time or place!"

"She said you did."

"She's lying! Why are you trusting her over me?!"

Robin knew Beast Boy was telling the truth and was piecing things together, "My guess is that she was attacked by an eagle, but only figured it was you after you pounced on her as a lion."

"Go figures." Beast Boy mumbled, "I should have never done that…I was just so angry." He said, covering his face with his hands.

"That still doesn't explain the photograph."

Beast Boy looked up, "Oh. Me and Raven just agreed she has some creepy obsession of Cyborg. Weird, right?"

"An obsession?"

"Yeah, I mean, she wears that big metal belt and a radar on her head – she obviously digs that kinda stuff." He explained, sticking his tongue out at the thought.

Robin failed to hide his smirk, "It's good to have you back Beast Boy."

Headquarters

"Nah, I really don't mind sleeping on dah couch." She said, kicking her legs up.

Starfire and Cyborg both smiled.

"Are you guys going to get some sleep?"

Starfire yawned, stretching her arms in opposite directions, "First I must check if my friend has not left the Tower." She explained, before leaving them.

Gabby turned back to Cyborg, who looked a little ashamed, "I'm really sorry about Beast Boy…he's been through a lot recently."

She waved her hand diagonally, "No worries. I forgive him."

Cyborg looked a little sceptical, "Really? That fast?"

"Yeah. I'm not one to hold a grudge."

"Wow…" Was all he said.

Gabby rested her easy-going eyes on the cyborg, "Don't stay mad at him. The poor guy had a rough day, right?"

Cyborg nodded, "I suppose he did, yeah."

"And I don't want to create any tension around here, so just forget the whole thing." She added, shutting her eyes.

Her sudden shift in personality was odd, but Cyborg did not take notice. He just felt relieved that things were going back how they used to be, with the exception of the girl lying in front of him. She had her arms rested behind her head and her eyes stayed shut. Cyborg did not feel the need to disturb her and decided that he had to check up on Beast Boy too. Gabby heard his heavy footsteps leave the room. The sound of the door closing released her eyelids and she sat back up.

"That, was perfectly executed." She self-praised in a whisper, "What a lie. I'm too good at this."

She giggled to herself; she found it hilarious how easily she could fool people. Though she had to admit, without the rain, Beast Boy's story may have pulled through. Was there someone up there backing her up? That's what she wanted to believe, anyway. Now that Cyborg was sorting things out with Beast Boy, she presumed no one would be giving her any trouble. From the ridge of her belt, she pulled out a silver cell phone and instantly dialled her father, to let him know.

He picked up, "Gabby?"

"Shh, keep it to a whisper pops – I'm in."

"Already?" He asked, sounding impressed, "Good work Gabby. I can always count on you."

"Yeah, what would you do without me?" She teased.

Doctor Shock cleared his throat, "You know what you're doing, I hope."

"What do you think?"

"No need for attitude Gabby. You've done me proud – good luck."

He hung up and she slipped the phone back into her belt, sinking back into the couch.

Surprisingly enough, it was quite comfortable.

That's the first chapter (phew). Hopefully it introduced the plot well enough XD If you want to leave a review go ahead!
