Present
Outside the Watson residents. Peter and and Mary Jane are arguing. Mary Jane with a sour expression on her delicate features, with hands on hips.
" I love you tiger, yet you can't even give me the time of day." Mary Jane exclaims, as her face reddens." I feel like you don't care about me. What could be more important then me?"
Peter replies " of course I care. MJ, nothing is more important to me then you."
Mary Jane quickly retorts " really, then why do you disappear all the time on me?"
Peter lowers his head, unsure of what to say. " I have to get photos for the Bugle," saying this knowing it was a bad answer; but he could tell her the truth. It would only put her life in danger.
" I've heard that before. I think you need time to straighten your priorities tiger." She slips the gold band off her finger, then hands it to him. She starts to walk to the front door when Peter grabs her arm.
" MJ wait, please. I gave you this because I meant it. I LOVE YOU, doesn't that mean something?"
She pulls away from his grasp, " not anymore. I'm tired of waiting to be number one in your life. You may say one thing, but your actions speak louder then words. Bye tiger." She sighs, continuing the march to the front door. Unable to comprehend what she just said, he jumps in front of her, but just before he can speak the door swings open.
" PETER PARKER, you heard her! Now go on and make trouble somewhere else." Spewing the cruelty with every word out of her shriveled lips. Mary Jane retreats inside and closes the door.
" I told you that boy was nothing but trouble. You should have taken my advise an gone out with Harry Osborn." She said disapprovingly.
" But Aunt Anna, I love Peter" she quickly replies.
" But he's not good for you. If it wasn't for May that boy wouldn't be a blimp on your radar. You said it yourself, your not important to him. Or did I hear wrong?"
With a chagrined expression she dashed up the carpeted steps to her room.
Aunt Anna has never like Peter. She only cares for Harry money. I love, Peter. I just don't understand him sometimes. Im sure he does love me, he just needs time to think. I sure he does. Doesn't he?
Laying on the bed she can't help but question his resolve. How could a few photos be more important then the woman he supposedly loved?
