Disclaimer: I don't own Continuum.

The worst part is when she was gone he would still wait for her voice to come through his earpiece. He would wait for the stressed 'Alec', but it wouldn't be there. And he would wonder why she was being so quiet; it was lonely without her nervous chatter to herself, or a comment just for him there. Sometimes he would find himself digging into encrypted files, until he realized she didn't ask him to do it. Occasionally, he would start a conversation only to remember she wasn't listening. He missed her. He missed how her fingers would brush her hair, her sarcasm, her curiosity, her mystery, her, he just missed her. He missed being the guy in her head, except now he thinks that somewhere along the way she became as implanted in his mind as his tech was in hers. In fact, it makes him laugh sometimes when he is fanatically typing coding that he only sees one world now, she was his eyes into a different world. Most importantly she was his brave and only companion, and he wants that back. One day he'll have her; it's only a matter of time.

The day he 'meets' her for the first time he is struck by how she is still 'so pretty' and smiles.

He sits next to her husband on the day of the execution. He watches her run to stop Liber8, he sees the brilliant light, and sees her move through time. As Greg calls out her name, Alec smiles and knows that somewhere he is not alone anymore.
