Summary: Coda to Captives – Sam's point of view.
Sam shuts his door. The keyless lock has no meaning other than a means of separating Sam from Dean. When Sam was a kid, he'd have loved his own space, true privacy, the means to shut out the world around him.
Now Sam isn't so sure it's a good thing.
He and Dean were used to living in one box or another – be it the metal and leather of the Impala, or the quirky no-tell-motel rooms – always together, no respite.
Even when they weren't talking, communication was a river running through them both. Inescapable.
This loneliness might end them both.
