Chapter 1: Love is Forever

It was springtime at Miller Fillmore Middle School. And the Sadie Hawkins dance was nearing. Jake Long had had a couple of offers from good looking females already, but he wasn't exactly moving on from Rose Thorn yet. See, The Huntsclan Elders, not including the Huntsman, in an effort to keep their Huntsgirl pure and soley dedicated to Slaying magical creatures, used an ancient spell to take her soul away. Now she was a monster. She had slain several dragons already according to the WDC, the World Dragon Council. She was number 1 on their list of Huntsclan members to stop. In any way necessary.

It was late, Jake was a part of the decorating commitee of the dance and was just leaving for home.

"Don't walk away from me Bitch!" He heard Brad's voice shout and he ran up the hallway and turned to another and saw Brad holding a gun on who Jake knew was his current girlfriend Sandra Feinbowth. "Love is forever."

Jake used his superior speed to sprint down the hall just as Brad was about to pull the trigger. He leaped forward and tackled Brad to the ground. He then punched Brad in the eye giving him a nasty shiner. "Dude, what the hell is wrong with you?" He demanded of Brad as he helped Brad up as the janitor consoled Sandra. "I know your a jerk but going O.J. on your girlfriend?"

"I...I don't know what just happened." Brad said in a very timid tone. A tone not like him. Jake was suddenly concerned.

"We weren't even fighting a few moments ago." Sandra added as she caught her breath. "Something just...took us over."

"Where'd you get the gun? Did you steal it from your dad?" Jake demanded.

"I don't even know where I got it." Brad said in fear. He knew bringing a gun into school was punishable with criminal charges. "I didn't have it a few minutes ago."

The janitor saw the gun as well. That's why he was coming over to help stop it. But weirdly..."Uh, I don't see any gun." He told the kids who looked where the gun had fallen. Indeed, it had vanished into thin air.

The next morning...

"I suppose I should thank you for stopping Mr. Morton from shooting Ms. Feinbowth." The principal said as Jake sat in his office. "But I'm curious as to what happened to the "gun" all of you say Mr. Morton had."

"I just tackled him sir. Oh and I gave him a shiner. That felt pretty good actually." Jake added.

"Guns don't just vanish into thin air Mr. Long. I will find out what happened to that gun. And if I find out you had anything to do with it, I will make sure you and any parties involved are prosecuted to the fullest extent."

"Yes sir." Jake said.

"Sir, Mr. Jiffers chained himself to the vending machines again." beeped his secretary from his desk phone.

"Pathetic little no life vegan." The eye patch wearing man said. "You may go Long. But I will find out what happened to that gun."

"Yes sir." Jake said and he waited for the intimidating man to go but before he could, a book fell out of his bookcase. It was the yearbook for the 1954-1955 schoolyear. "We will miss" with a teacher and student on the front cover.

"Weird." Jake said before putting the book back on the shelf. Time to talk to gramps. He decided as he left.

To Be Continued...

A little fic started based on my favorite episode (Yes it is my favorite now) of Buffy the Vampire Slayer "I Have Eyes Only For You" its one of the best because the villain focus is not a vampire for once.
