Author note: I do not own Fruits Basket. Yuki is 6 and Ayame is 17. Not important ages- Kyo is 6, Kagura is 8, Akito is 9, Ritsu is 11, Kureno is 16, Isuzu is 7, Momiji is 5, Haru is 5, Hatori is 17, and Shigure is 17.

Yuki sat in seclusion. Everyday he sat watching others enjoy their lives, but he wasn't allowed to join anyone's fun. Today when he looked out he saw the same people that came out when Akito was bedridden: Kagura chasing Kyo, Ritsu apologizing to Kureno for bumping into him, Isuzu giving Haru a necklace she made for him, He also saw three teens he recognized. They were never usually in that area, due to them having more freedom. Kureno had freedom too, but he wasn't close to the oldest Zodiac members for some unknown reason. One was serious with dark hair. Yuki remembered him as Hatori, the dragon. Yuki heard rumors that Hatori was the one in charge of erasing memories. He knew they would find out who was in charge of erasing memories when Momiji's mother would decide on it. Everyone knew it was coming the only one that would mention it to Momiji was Akito, as a way of torment. Another had dark hair also, but seemed a lot more laid back. Yuki recognized him as Shigure, the dog. He was close to Akito, like Kureno was. The other had long silver hair. Yuki recognized him as Ayame, the snake and his older brother. Yuki knew nothing about his brother, except his name and Zodiac animal. Yuki stumbled towards the teens reaching towards his brother. Yuki muffled a cough and looked up into Ayame's eyes. Hatori and Shigure both looked at Yuki and Ayame, waiting to see what would happen. Ayame turned his back towards Yuki and walked away. Yuki stared with a look of unmistakable sadness in his eyes at his brothers back. Yuki walked away back into his corner, still completely alone. Hatori and Shigure slowly followed after Ayame. "He resembles Ayame, don't you think Hari?" asked Shigure. Hatori nodded, not bothering to hide the disgust he felt towards Ayame's treatment of Yuki. Hatori scolded Ayame about how horribly he acted and told him he would regret it. Shigure listened and silently agreed with Hatori.

Hatori was right it was one of the worse things he ever did. Hatori regrets that he didn't attempt to make Yuki get away from the pain. That moment would always be remembered as a source of pain for Yuki.
