The pain of the labor went out of her mind as she stared down at her cute little boy. He stared up at her with deep brow eyes, a bit of red circled around his round little orbs from his earlier crying. She pets his full head of silver hair, smiling down at him. He looked like a child version of his father. He reached up with a, rather dark, hand and wrapped his small fingers around her pinky. She felt tears come to her eyes. She wasn't sad. The opposite. She couldn't be any happier. Suddenly, the doors to her room swung open, startling both the new mother and newborn child.
"Olivia!" He shouted, rushing into the room. This was the most unnerved she ever seen him. His long silver hair was tussled about, surely by the wind on his way to the hospital. His black clothes were covered in blood from his last mission. The only thing that wasn't dirty or bloody was his bright green eyes that stared down at her with a bright, excited, light. Olivia smiled up at him.
"Come hold your son, Sephiroth." She said softly, lifting the tiny bundle in her arms a little higher as the former general walked over to his wife and newborn. When he was at her side, he stared at the tiny blue bundle, unsure of what to do. Olivia smiled up at him and lifted the child up towards him. Sephiroth instinctively reached out and wrapped his arms around the tiny body and held it gently against his chest. Sephiroth looked up at his wife and then back down at his little boy. The boy stared up at his with his chocolate orbs for a moment. Sephiroth continued to hold the child as if he were glass and stared down at him, a little uncomfortable with the fact that this little bundle of life in his arm was so easy to break. The baby stared up at him with watery eyes before giggling. The sound was like little bells. Olivia smiled as Sephiroth's expression softened and he smiled down at the boy. Olivia placed her hand on her husband's arm and smiled up at him.
"He needs a name, honey." She said softly, still a little tired. Sephiroth smiled and placed the child back in her arms, kneeing by her side and placing his hands on her arms as she cradled the baby boy.
"How about Ethan?" He asked softly, looking down at his son. Olivia smiled, a little wider. She liked that name. She nodded softly, her smile not leaving her lips for a moment. Sephiroth smiled as well. He leaned up and kissed his wife gently. When he pulled away, they both looked down at the little boy, squirming a little in her arms.
"Welcome to the world, my little Ethan." She whispered. She knew that the years ahead would be filled with even more joyful moments similar to the joy she was feeling at the moment with her newborn child in her arms and her husband by her side.
