Charlotte's choice.
Charlotte couldn't believe it. But it did start to add up. When Emily was in the hospital, she said her father was David Clarke, Charlotte's father. Emily did seem to have a casual relationship with the truth, but in her state then, she seemed more honest, her memories were only just returning. And now, with little Carl. Charlotte offerred to be a blood doner after the accident, Jack didn't let her. Charlotte knew that Carl was everything to Jack, why would he not ask a blood relative? It was later, after Carl recovered, that Jack told her the whole truth. Charlotte went to see Emily, only to see her mother there as well. They were physically fighting, not that shocking. But there was a gun on the floor. The two of them were fighting to get to it. Charlotte picked up the gun and told them to stop fighting. Emily and Victoria obeyed and went to seperate corners.
Victoria: Charlotte, thank God you're here. Emily's gone insane.
Charlotte: Maybe that's because you killed her father, my father.
Emily: What are you talking about?
Charlotte: Jack told me the truth. This whole time, you both lied to me.
Emily: I'm sorry Charlotte, but I have to do this, for what she did to our father.
Victoria: I don't know what either of them told you, but they're lying. Just give me the gun and we'll call the police together.
Emily: Don't trust her. She'll kill me. I am your sister.
Charlotte: Are you. Amanda, the other one, she was a sister to me. She gave me a nephew, and you dragged her into your revenge scheme. That is what killed my sister, Declan, my unborn child. You definitely deserve some of the blame for all of this, Emily.
Emily: I know. I don't expet you to forgive me, but I'm sorry.
Charlotte: As bad as you were, at least you didn't intend for this to happen. But you mom, you meant to kill my father, my sister, maybe Declan and our baby too.
Victoria: I never wanted Declan hurt, and I never wanted you to suffer a miscarriage.
Charlotte: You just meant for Amanda and our father to die. I can't forgive that.
Emily: Charlotte, give me the gun. We can just walk away, together.
Victoria: No she won't. She'll kill me.
Charlotte: I give the gun to either of you, you'll kill the other. I can't negate responsibility like that. I have to do this myself.
Charlotte shot her own mother in the head, killing her instantly. She started crying. Emily was horrified by this. She had never wanted to corrupt her sister like this. But she had made her choices, she'd chosen vengeance over family. And this was the result. Emily hugged her sister, tried to comfort her. They would have to figure out what to do, cover-up, get rid of the body, or possibly make up a story for the police. Whatever happenned they were sisters in death now.
