Bianca Montgomery was never a taker, not in childhood or adolescence, not in motherhood or marriage, not as a daughter or a sister and certainly never as a friend. From a young age it had become apparent to those who knew her best that little Bianca Montgomery, with her pale porcelain skin and her wide deep brown eyes, was a soul intent on sharing her love, trust and kindness to all and any who needed it. And life would dictate that such qualities would leave her battle worn but Bianca carried her scars as valiantly as all her other qualities, without complaint, without reservation and without despair. It was the reason so many people in Pine Valley cherished Bianca, why they would willingly put themselves in harms way to protect her. Because Bianca Montgomery was not a taker, she was and probably always would be a giver. So it was no surprise that Bianca gave her heart to Marissa Tasker, no surprise either that in doing so she asked nothing in return. Love was a gift meant to be shared not one that required a token replacement.
Marissa Tasker believed that nothing in life could be taken for granted, not the air that she breathed or the people she loved. The redhead wasn't much of a taker and although she gave she wouldn't consider herself anything like Bianca Montgomery on that score either. If a definition was needed Marissa would probably label herself a grafter. Marissa worked hard to be the best mother she could be to her young son, she worked tirelessly to be the best lawyer her clients could want and she worked diligently to be the best kind of person the people in her life needed her to be. The only thing that Marissa Tasker didn't work at was Bianca Montgomery.
Bianca asked nothing of Marissa and in return Marissa gave her everything. Maybe it was a cosmic ordering of sorts, that Bianca Montgomery strong selfless and scarred would finally one day find a woman who would love all of her the way she needed. For that is what Marissa Tasker did, she loved all of Bianca both the present and the past. The invisible scars that lined Bianca's soul were worshipped by the redhead, the unasked questions answered, the nightmares soothed and dreams built. The two women fit together like puzzle pieces, rounded edges sliding snugly together so that they were almost seamless.
And Marissa Tasker managed the impossible; in unreservedly offering Bianca her heart she finally taught the brunette that sometimes it was okay to take. And Bianca for the first time in her life did take, she took absolutely everything Marissa offered and lost herself in truly loving someone who loved her back. Of course both women learnt that being taken was just as much fun as taking.
