Author's Note: This is pretty depressing. I mean, it's not like Lullaby, but it's sadder than Insanity. God, I'm good at angst. I wonder if that says something... :O
Anyways. I don't own Demi Lovato or Selena Gomez.
Aaaand you should review. Because I'm kind of addicted to those things.

Have you ever had one of those days? You know the ones. The days you just want to curl up in a ball in the darkest place you can find and cry your eyes out. You're not really sure why, but all you want to do is cry until you can't breathe through your nose and your eyes are red and puffy.
Maybe you have no idea why you're crying. It just feels like the right thing to do. Maybe you're crying because you can't manage to find a single good thing about yourself. Maybe you're crying because everyone is throwing all these compliments at you that should mean the world, but they don't and you feel like an attention-seeking ingrate. Maybe you're crying because you don't necessarily hate yourself, but you don't love yourself either. You're stuck on neutral, but not the content kind of neutral. You're stuck on that neutral that hurts because you have this bleeding wound inside of you that you can't stitch up.
Maybe you want to cut, but you know you can't. You shouldn't, anyways. But you want to. And maybe you will, later tonight, when the rest of the world is dreaming peacefully and you're still up, trapped inside your dark reality that you just can't seem to claw your way out of.
Maybe everything will be better if you just look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are, but the words would taste like lies on your tongue.

You're beautiful, Demi.
Demi squeezed her eyes shut as the words echoed in her head and she did her best to shove the voice out of her mind. She took a deep breath, bit back the tears and went back to her journal.

Maybe you just need to hear her say it. Maybe you just need her to tell you how beautiful you are, instead of hearing it from your friends and family that are obligated to tell you. Maybe you just need her.
It's kind of funny how the things you want most in the world are the things that you just can't have.
