BIRTHDAY WISHES

ch:1

Stork made a loud umph as he hit the floor. He'd been jarred out of a deep slumber by Finn and Junko who ran into his room screaming, "Happy Birthday," at the top of their lungs.

As the two were singing Radarr came in and started jumping on him chirping excitedly.

Stork was still half asleep but looked around covering his ears, getting madder each second.

"Guys!" came Piper's voice. "Leave poor Stork alone, since it's his special day he should be able to sleep in late."

"Awww, we just wanted to wish him Happy Birthday." said a whiney sharpshooter.

She gave them the look and they left.

"Thank you," Stork said as she helped him back into bed.

"Don't mention it," she said giving him a big smile.

He closed his eyes and smiled back as he was slipping once again into a dreamless sleep.

"But!" Piper said still standing there.

His ears perked up to hear her but he kept is eyes closed as he frowned.

"Every Birthday Boy needs breakfast in bed!" She ran out of the room and came back seconds later with a tray and plopped it on his bed.

There was a huge stack of pancakes, a whole plate of scrambled eggs, 10 mini sausages, a glass of orange juice, biscuits with gravy, ham, pork chops, waffles, and toast with butter and jam.

He opened his eyes and looked at the food, then he looked at her in amazement. She smiled back at him.

"I couldn't think of what to make so I made it all. Hope you enjoy your breakfast," she said giving a hard peck on his forehead. With that she turned on her heels and left the room.

He really wasn't in the mood to eat, he just wanted to go back to sleep. He looked back to the food which he realized was crushing his legs and with great difficulty he heaved the burdensome tray onto the floor.

He curled back up in his sheets and was almost asleep when he heard a crash and yelling. He curled the pillow around to cover his ears. Piper's muffled scolding penetrated the walls.

He tried to ignore it but it was no use. Then there a knock on the door.

"Come in." He said taking the pillow from around his head.

It was Aerrow.

"Sorry about all the racket I could go and tell them to keep it down. Piper forgot the syrup and she asked me to bring it to you. " He said leaning against the door frame.

"Don't bother, I'm wide awake now." He threw the covers off and swung his legs over the bed.

He looked down at the mountain of food. Aerrow followed his gaze and smiled.

"That's some breakfast Piper made you."

"Yah." He said looking sadly at the food. He didn't want to hurt Piper's feelings but there was no way he could possibly eat all this.

Aerrow knew what he was thinking.

"Why don't you just get dressed and come to the bridge, I'll take care of the food," he said with a reassuring smile. He walked over to the tray and picked it up with a huge amount of effort and slowly walked out of the room.

"Oh and Happy Birthday." He said in a strangled voice as he walked out the door.
