Title: All That Is
Pairings/Warnings: none
Summary: she could not have been more grateful
For years, the visions shown her by the Millennium Necklace had served her well. So when she saw only darkness on the horizon, Ishizu could do little else but submit. With dejected acceptance, she ventured forward as a woman with nothing to lose. For it seemed the past would repeat itself to the bitter end.
Consequently, when Seto Kaiba summoned the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and sent her visions and prophecies of certain doom shattering to pieces, she could not have been more grateful.
So transfixed on visions – no, illusions – of the future, she'd been blind to what was right before her: the intervening human will, ever rebellious. Ishizu reveled in the sharp clarity of the present - the impact their choices could have and the part she herself had played in shaping this moment.
Gathered here together, united by the uncertainty of all that is to come, she realized it had been a long time since she had not felt alone; long isolated by the weight of certainty.
With no clear answer as to what lay ahead, Ishizu felt the seeds of hope set in and allowed herself to believe it was not too late, for the world, and her brother.
Author's Note: Rushed and a tad short of inspiration, but I really wanted to try and enter something for this prompt. Please let me know of any errors or inconsistencies.
(8/30/2010) I wish I could have incorporated her statement to Kaiba in A Duel with Destiny: "Your past is the key to your power."
