Fed up
"senpai… I'm leaving…''
These words caused the redhead to look up from his phone. Texting another girl no doubt…
"Going to hang with Sid and Nygus?" The scythe inquired.
The silver haired meister shifted his eyes away and bit his lower lip, not wanting to say what he knew had to be said.
He finally spoke.
"No… I'm leaving you… for good…"
The scythe blinked and set the phone aside slowly, not taking his eyes off of his partners for one second. He ran a hand through his hair before he spoke.
"Look… If this is about the girls, I can chan-."
"Shut up." Stein cut him off. "Just shut up…"
The redhead gaped at him and slowly shut his mouth. This is the first time that his meister has talked to him like that. Stein took a shaky breath and continued talking.
"I can't deal with any of this anymore…you cheat on me and lie to me over and over again, I'm so tired of letting you toy with my emotions… So I'm leaving, to be Marie's meister."
Even the meister was surprised at the calm tone in his voice; he had expected to be crying by now. Maybe he was just tired of crying over someone who didn't care.
Spirit was gripping the arm of the couch so tightly that his knuckles were turning white.
"Stein…you don't have to do this okay? We can make this work. I-I'll stop drinking a-and sleeping around and I c-can change!"
"I said shut your mouth!"
The redhead jumped slightly at the harsh tone in his partner's voice, Stein has never raised his voice at him, not once in their entire partnership.
"How many times spirit?! How many times are you going to say that you're going to change before you actually do it!?"
This caused the weapon to go silent and shift his gaze to the wall, seemingly ashamed, most likely acting.
"Please don't do this stein…. I really do love you and only you…"
The meister snapped back quickly. "How many girls have you used that line on while in a relationship with me?"
The way Spirit shifted his eyes downward and bit his lip was enough to convince stein that he didn't want to know the answer.
"I'm leaving tomorrow spirit. Goodnight."
Stein stalked off to his room before Spirit had a chance to reply to him, locking himself inside, and leaving spirit to cry on the couch.
He stayed up all night, fully processing what he had just done.
