I'm not really sure what I think about this, but I hope you all enjoy it.
Disclaimer: I don't own Merlin.
Like any other day, Kilgharrah found himself sitting in his cave beneath Camelot. He was alone. A chain that could not be broken was the only thing standing between him and his freedom. Kilgharrah lay his head down on the floor of the cave. There were times that he hated his life. He could not understand why he even existed. What could he, the last of his kind, do if he was only a prisoner?
Ever since Uther's betrayal, Kilgharrah had had many thoughts revolving around this one simple idea. What was he meant to do? What purpose did he serve being imprisoned in Camelot? In the back of his mind, Kilgharrah knew that there had to be a purpose. Fate would not be so cruel as to keep him alive otherwise.
It was while he was thinking to himself on that particular day, that he received an answer to his question. It began as a feeling, something that Kilgharrah easily ignored at first. The feeling slowly began to grow into something bigger and bigger. Eventually, Kilgharrah could no longer ignore it.
An uncontrollable urge overtook him. He reached out with the ancient power he possessed, searching for the cause of the feeling. Just outside of Camelot, Kilgharrah found what he was looking for. A young man, a warlock, was walking towards Camelot, radiating magic the likes of which he had never seen. A single word entered into Kilgharrah's mind. Merlin. Kilgharrah could tell that the young man walking towards Camelot had a very important destiny, a destiny that would cause the young man much pain and sorrow in the near future.
In that moment, Kilgharrah knew why fate had chosen to keep him alive. He knew that he was going to have a part to play in the future of the young warlock. He knew that he was going to play the role of an advisor to the young man, helping to guide him in the steps that his destiny led him. With this knowledge in mind, Kilgharrah let loose a roar that shook the very foundations of his cave. For the first time in a long while, Kilgharrah had a purpose.
Please tell me what you thought of this.
