'Hero Teens'

1. Moving

Jackie's POV.

I'm Jackie, and I'm not your average teenage girl. I'm not just saying that because I happen to be a tomboy that has been off and on raised in the palace. It's because of the fact that I also happen to be a fighter for justice. My mother is Kino Makoto also known as Sailor Jupiter, and I her daughter am Sailor Mini Jupiter.

I have long chestnut hair generally held in two low ponytails and green bangs. My eyes are green like my mothers. But one thing that I surely did not inherit from my mother is my height. I'm already 16 and I barely reach 5'1. I think my shortness comes from my father's side of the family, but we don't talk about him much, since he's not quite in the picture anymore.

It's a beautiful Friday after school at the skate park. Where I am currently doing one of my favorite things, skate boarding. I'm also here with my best friend Reika, but she doesn't board.

She's about half a head taller than me and has long Raven black hair similar to her mothers, though hers is always in a ton of tiny braids from the top of her head all the way down her back. And just like me, she's also a fighter for justice. Her mother is Hino Rei, Sailor Mars. Reika is Sailor Mini Mars.

Reika was sitting down doodling in her notebook and checking out the guys here and there. She wasn't keen on thrill seeking sports as I was, athletic sports were more her thing. And if Reika had her choice we'd be out on a football field* instead.

"I'm spent." I wiped the sweat from my forehead with the back of my fingerless glove. "We should get going; it's getting kind of late."

"Yeah, I agree." Reika sighed, closing her sketchbook and placing her drawing tools in her bag. "All the cute guys left already anyway." I laughed at the comment, and we started on our way home. We walked together until our paths eventually split off to our own separate homes.

When I finally made it home I went inside and stood my skateboard up by the shoe rack then started towards the kitchen for a snack. That's when I saw my mom looking stressed and my little brother being fidgety, he smiled at me when he saw me in the door way.

Earlier that day -

It had been maybe a year since any trouble has stirred in Crystal Tokyo and the peace that came with the calm was welcomed. But today Queen Serenity had called a meeting with all her fellow scouts, that and with very little description as to what all this was actually about its no wonder her friends were slightly agitated with worry.

"She said it was urgent!" Rei looked at her fellow scouts, they all exchanged glances as they walked through the grand halls of Crystal Tokyo. "What do you think this is all about?"

They walked in the throne room of the palace, "Serenity, why did you call us here?" Makoto looked up at Queen Serenity who was starting on her way off the throne and down towards her fellow Sailor Scouts that she knew so well.

"Well there's been a lot of trouble lately, we think," her head nodded towards Sailor Pluto who had already been present and waiting. "There just might be a new enemy, on our hands." The Queen's voice was soft and unsure.

"So we just have to watch our backs right?" Minako states, a questioning gaze on her dear friend who now dons a golden tiara atop her head.

"Well, you see. It's not quite that simple." Queen Serenity, looked at her fellow scouts with worried eyes.

"Sorry we're late." All the scouts turned to see Haruka, Michiru and Hotaru who is barely out of her adolescence enter the throne room as well.

"Oh, I was just telling the others that we have a new enemy on our hands."

"Right!" Haruka and Michiru chimed in unison. It was amazing how being a scout teetered both between admirable on the readiness of protecting the Queen and her heirs, yet disturbing that that will to fight came so easy.

"So, have we come up with a plan yet?" Ami said pointedly to Usagi. You can always leave it to Ami to get straight to the point.

"Well that's why I've called you here. Our new enemy seems to have many agents or minions popping up here and there, we've spotted them not just here in Japan, but other alternate universes as well." Amazing how moments like these made that little crown that she wore seem to be a whole deal heavier then what it was.

"I see, we're needed to help fight more than just here then." Ami spoke up strategically.

"Exactly, so I know it's going to be hard, but I need all of you and your families to take on other worlds. We're not quite sure what they are after yet, though we fear this could be an old enemy resurfacing and searching for a way to take revenge, or something worse." Yes, possibly something much worse.

Now -

"Hi, mom. What's going on? Is everything Okay?" I looked up at my mom with worried eyes.

"Everything's fine! It's just I need to tell you something." I watched as her hands wiped her apron worriedly, a nervous habit.

"Okay… what's up?" My curiosity peeked.

"Well, we have strict orders from Queen Serenity…" she paused, "we have to move."

"Move, you're serious?!" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She couldn't be serious, we all had comfortable homes outside the palace (though we had the option of living in the palace walls as well, which is where we stayed if the royal family needed the protection of its guardians), I had no want to leave Crystal Tokyo I grew up here, and I loved it.

"I'm afraid so, but don't be upset. It's just for a mission, and then we return here. Do you understand?" She looked down at me asking me as if I were a 2 year old. Obviously I did and didn't understand.

I pouted a bit, but I really didn't want to show a sign that it was a big deal to me so I responded calmly. "Yes, I understand. It's fine."

"Alright, you can start packing tomorrow. We're leaving on Sunday."

'What! On Sunday! That's practically a day in a half from now!' I didn't dare to say it out loud. I just silently screamed it in my head, "So where exactly are we going?"

I could see the way her eyes moved to the side, meaning she didn't want to tell. "Well we're going to a place called West City."

"I don't think I've heard of it." I looked at her suspiciously.

"That's because it's in an alternate universe."

"An alternate universe!" I spat.

"Don't be like that, it's just for a little while." She said sternly back.

"Right, we leave everything we know, for what a couple years maybe? Yeah, no big deal." I was being sarcastic when I shouldn't have been. But she didn't scold me.

My mother sighed and put her hands on her hips, "you don't know that." She gave me that look, the one that said I don't want to fight with you. The one she used to give dad. I bit my lip knowing she was serious; she didn't want to fight with me. And why should she, we were under obligation. And I knew just as well as her our duty as sailor soldiers.

I turned my back to her and walked up the stairs. I immediately felt bad for giving her a bad time. As if being a single parent to two wasn't hard enough.

O.o

I stared at my old house through the car door. I had my skateboard on my lap; I set my forehead against the glass then gave a sideways glance behind me, where in the back seat my younger brother Koji was also looking out at the old yellow house.

My brother Koji is 14. He's already as tall as I am if not a little taller and I have a feeling that within a year he will surpass me greatly in height, it's like he grows an inch every day. He has short dark brown hair with green bangs and Caramel brown eyes. I don't think he minded it that bad the fact that we were getting sent to some different universe, in fact I think he was rather excited about it.

"How can you be so cheerful, what if we never come back?" I know it was mean for me to look for doom in the situation but his cheery smile was annoying.

"How can you be so moody?" He countered, "There's going to be new things to see, new adventures and new crimes" He had an evil smirk and look in his eyes.

He was being childish. "You know, mom doesn't even let you fight so don't bother."

"I'm going to fight, you just wait and see." He said returning my glare.

"Whatever." I finally spat turning away from him.

When we arrived at the palace we followed Sailor Pluto where she opened a door that wasn't there until she turned a key. We and other Sailors with their families walked in too. I said bye to my friends and fellow sailors, as Pluto opened many portals to our new homes.

"Hey!" I looked up to see a smiling Reika.

"Reika!" I hugged her. "I'll miss you!"

"You won't have to!" she squealed. "I'm going with you!"

I screamed and hugged her more fiercely. Getting some unappreciative faces from the others. "But won't you miss your family?" I questioned.

"They'll probably be joining us soon. My mom is going to a world where it doesn't look like anything is going on, after she checks it out, they can follow us to where your family is being sent." She smiled.

"I guess you can't hate life now can you?" My mother's voice chimed in above us a smirk on her face. I guess she was right.

O.o

Our arrival wasn't even noticed.

The town seemed extremely on the normal side aside from the most of the city being domed shaped and cars hovering over the streets, maybe they were more technologically advanced here. We settled in a house not much different than the one that we lived in before. It was almost eerie how at home we felt.

And then it was Monday, and time to go to our new school. I took a shower combed my hair brushed my teeth etc. I put my favorite green tank top on and my favorite pair of cargo jeans which donned a couple rips in them with chains on it. Reika put on her favorite black choker with the red star on it a red tee and black skinny jeans. We then proceeded to put on our Orange star High school badges*. "Eh!" I heard Reika complain, "Orange clashes with red." I simply laughed at her comment. Then with my skateboard in hand we walked towards the door.

"You're not really going to wear those jeans to school are you?" My mother said, raising an eyebrow. I think she was secretly heartbroken that I didn't enjoy frills and flower patterns like she did.

I just smiled and said, "You know, my favorite part about this new school? Is that I can wear whatever I want instead of uniforms." Then I went outside the door before she could say anything else.

O.o

I looked over at Reika who was sitting next to me; surprisingly we were able to easily find our first class of the day, "Different school, but same boring routine." I had no reason to expect otherwise, as I then lay my head on my desk.

"Actually Jackie, I'd beg to differ!" Hearing her quiet shrill I looked over to see that she had a huge smile on her face clearly gawking at something.

I gave her a questioning look before following her eyes to the door we'd come in minutes earlier, my chin still resting on the desk.

He was definitely cute, and stood about 5'9 maybe. Which was good since Reika was 5'4. He had black hair, and brown eyes, light skinned and the fabric of his shirt did nothing to hide the clearly toned build. The first thing coming to mind that he may be a jock.

"Good choice." I mulled over her smile, "I don't think I really want to get all wrapped up in to boys this year." I closed my eyes as if trying to clear my head. It would be better if I was focused on the mission anyways, sooner it's over the sooner we get back to our own reality.

"Dream on Jackie!" she scoffed at me. "You know one of the things you inherited from your mother is you drowned when you see a hot guy!"

Her reprimanding whisper brought a light shade of pink to come over my face, "I know it's a curse." I groaned pouting.

The dark haired god that Reika had spotted walked up to us. "Hey, I haven't seen you two beauties before!" A huge smirk on his face.

Reika giggled, "I'm Reika!" she introduced, "And this is my best friend Jackie. We're new here!" She couldn't suppress the smile on her face.

"I'm Goten!" he said holding out his hand. Reika stretched out her hand and shook his softly. A cute dusting of pink appeared on her cheeks. Then the bell rang, saving me from their disgustingly cute exchange.

Authors POV

"Goten please take your seat." The teacher said. He had very deep frown lines.

"Okay class we have two new students..." The teacher was cut off as the door was swung open. In came a tall boy maybe 6'1, with light purple hair and blue eyes. He had a blue jacket that read capsule corp. on the shoulder; this guy also had an extremely muscled physique. Jackie subconsciously sat back up, 'Apparently they breed them good here' Jackie thought.

"Sorry I'm late, I had something to do." He said with a smile.

"That's all right Trunks, since you're a good student, I'll let it pass this time. Now take a seat." 'What? He got off the hook with that half-assed excuse?' Jackie watched on as he nodded and glided into a seat on the second row.

"Hey Jackie, do you still not want to get wrapped up in guys this year?" Reika whispered. She probably noticed her shorter friends attention was focused on the recent arrival.

"Reika just pinch me." Was all Jackie could reply in a soft whisper back, she still couldn't believe her eyes. She could already feel herself getting caught up in what she said she wasn't going to. Then suddenly a pain ran up her arm as Reika did not hold back from the request and pinched her really hard.

"Ooww!" Jackie screamed aloud she stood up holding her sore arm and glaring at her best friend, who had an obvious 'oops' expression on her face. Everyone turned around and looked at the two, with questioning faces. Jackie and Reika began to turn red at the realization of all the stares especially those of Goten and Trunks.

"Yes, that reminds me these are our two new students, Kino Junko* and Kumada Reika."

"Jackie!" Jackie shrieked taking a peek at the guy named Trunks, "I like to be called Jackie." She then faced her head to the floor in embarrassment and sank down in her chair. So much for first impressions.

Notes

*-This is referring to Soccer. Even though I live in the USA I know that the rest of the world rightly so calls this game Football, so that is what I too chose to call it.

*-I know that technically Orange Star High School is in Satan City. But this is fanfiction, so bear with me.

*-Junko is Jackie's real name, although never mentioned in my previous edits. Ever since I first started this story who knows how many years ago that was *cough*10*cough*, Jackie was always purely a nickname.

Okay viewers I hope it was okay for my first chapter!
