Summary- Cameron and House get stabbed by their patient who was suffering from psychosis.
This story is based off of the ER episode All in the Family"
Chapter 1- As he lay dying
"He's flatlining"
Gregory House had been transferred to the OR after being brutally stabbed in the chest, abdomen, and back. The ER doctors and nurses had worked feverishly to save the life of their diagnostician. After Cuddy used the sternal saw on his chest, they were able to get his heart working again, but he had to go to the OR to repair the damage. While in the OR however, House suffered a pulmonary embolism. Now the doctors weren't so sure that he would survive.
"House?" Dr. Cuddy asked with a worry in her voice
Drs. Chase and Foreman were the room also. And they were showing definite signs of nervousness
"House?" Cuddy asked again
Still no answer.
"Oh my God" Cuddy whispered to herself. "Chase, get the paddles."
Chase got the crash cart and handed the paddles to Cuddy.
"Charge to 200"
"Clear"
Nothing
"Charge to 250"
"Clear"
Still no heartbeat
"Charge to 300"
"Clear"
Nothing.
"He's in V-Fib" said Chase
Charge to 350"
"Clear"
The monitor showed that Greg's heart was slowly failing
"He's asystole"
"Charge to 360"
"Clear"
No heartbeat
"360 again"
"Clear"
The monitor just showed a flatline, and the all too familiar beeping of the monitor was heard.
"Cuddy" Chase said with a cry in his voice.
"No Chase, we could still save him"
"Cuddy"
Cuddy reluctantly let go of House's heart which she had been carefully massaging.
"Time of death, 2:56"
Meanwhile...
Dr. Allison Cameron was lying in the OR recovery room. She had also been stabbed, but her injuries were not as severe. The doctors were able to repair the damage she had before she lost alot of blood. Dr. Chase went in to check on her and saw that she was awake.
"Hey you, how are you feeling?" asked Chase
"Not so well. It feels like somone is burning my back with an iron."
"Im sorry to say this, but you are going to feel like that for a while."
"Great" Cameron mumbled
"You gave us quite a scare in there. We thought we were going to lose you."
Cameron closed her eyes and swallowed hard.
"How's House?"
"You should get some rest. You just had a really bad-"
"Just tell me how he is damnit."
"Im sorry to be the one who has to tell you this but umm," Chase paused. Not knowing how
to break the news to Cameron. "House suffered from a Pulmonary Emobolism. Drs. Cuddy, Foreman
and myself tried our hardest to save him but im afraid he died. Im so sorry."
"You have to know that it wasn't your fault"
Cameron just ignored him and started crying. Chase took her hand in his and tried his
best to comfort his friend.
