She had made a list, set out everything for how this conversation would go and nothing was going according to plan.
"Why" , with a slight shiver to a her voice
"Because I love you, because you deserve this, because"
"Stop just stop", Hermione said in reply to his small rant before he could get really into it.
"Mione, you are being ridiculous."- Snape
"Am I really? How many times have we had this conversation, Servous? How many times have I asked you to make an effort, how many times have I asked you to take me out. We sit around in your dark dungeons and I feel like we wallow around in your self pity. Which at this point I have had more than enough of."
"You don't know what it likes to have everyone hate you. You are one third of the golden trio, you are walking perfection while I am just the dungeon bat who never smiles, can never been seen being happy."
(she takes his hand and silently walks them out of his quarters)
"Where are you taking me"- Snape
(she doesn't answer him and just keeps walking, they eventually end up at the Lake the place where they first kissed three years ago. She still doesn't say anything to him and just kisses him gently before backing away a few inches)
"It was this spot three years ago that you kissed me with a passion that still to this day takes my breath away. It was this spot that made me see past the wall of self hate that you have, and fell head over heals in love with you. I am just asking you to finally believe in that, in our love no matter what happens"-Hermione
"Hermione, I want to so badly. I long for the day that I can just let go and shout it from the roof tops who I am in love with, and not care what others think. The war."-Snape
"The war ended 5 years ago, Servous, it is time to let go of that guilt and truly move on, truly be happy for you out of everyone deserves to be happy."-Hermione
(he just kisses her and all of the sudden gets down on one knee and the two of them are surrounded by family and friends including the Potter's, Weasley's, and Hermione's parents. She just looks around in shock)
"I have known for some time that I love you with everything I am. I promise from this day forward to cherish you, take you out on proper dates, buy you roses, ingredients to make potions, your favorite books, take you on fun vacations when work becomes too stressful. I promise you the world if you will let me give it to you. Hermione Jean Granger will you do me the honor of becoming my wife"- Snape
(she looks at him with tears in her eyes) "Of course I will, Servous. However that doesn't"- Hermione
(this time he quiets her with a gentle kiss) "Mia, it changes everything. Now let's move on from that fight and go enjoy each other properly shall we?"-Snape
(she blushes) "Servous, not in front of everyone please!"-Hermione
(the group congratulated the two love birds, and the newly engaged couple go to a hotel in Muggle London to celebrate)
Two Months Later
"Are you sure you are ready for this?'-Hermione
"Mia, if you ask that one more time my answer might change. I love you and have completely changed my ways to prove this to you. What more do you want from me?'-Snape
(giggles) "I wasn't asking about if you really wanted to get married silly"- Hermione
(joins her in the laughter) "O, my sincerest apology dear, what were you asking"-Snape
"I was asking if we could elope today? I don't want to plan some huge overly done affair that would only please my mother. I just want to become Mrs. Snape as soon as possible"- Hermione
"Fair enough, sweet heart. Let's go."-Snape
"Really?"-Hermione
"Really, grab your cloak let's go"-Servous
And that is how Hermione Jean Granger became Mrs. Snape. Three years of patience, love, passion and desire and that night when they fell asleep as newlyweds they knew that their love would go on no matter what happened around them or to them.
