A/N: Yo. Kathy here, with her first fic. Ever.
It was un-beta'd, but I caught everything, don't worry.
And my constant OC placing will probably never stop, so get used to it, k?
Well, my rambling aside, please enloy! And please, tell me what you think.
It was busy, as usual; and boring, as well. Harsh, but even the locals agreed. Not much can be said for East City.
Edward sighed, strolling off the train, his younger brother Alphonse trotting behind him.
"Brother, why did you need to come to the East City library? Something specific…?" Alphonse asked timidly, hunching over in an attempt to make his height somewhat closer to his older brother's.
Edward glanced back at him, giving 'that' face, not quite a smile, yet not quite angry, either.
"…Yeah. Something that the Lieutenant Colonel mentioned to me before he…" Ed's voice trailed off, as he gritted his teeth, whipping his head forward, looking at the ground. "C-c'mon Al, let's go, before it gets dark. I still wanna find a hotel, or something, too."
Alphonse obediently nodded, and continued following Edward in silence.
They continued on, leaving the train station, going through a plaza, a bazaar of some sort going on.
"Stop! Thief!" a sharp voice called out.
The young boys turned their heads in the direction of the yell, as did the rest of the crowd.
The centre of attention; a young girl, with black hair, cropped short, like a boy's was dashing through the crowd, a loaf of bread hanging between her teeth, and a few more shoved into her jacket.
As she ran past the Elrics, time seemed to pause once they made eye contact.
She looked first at Edward, stricken by his unusual eye color, and then was surprised by his height. What a shrimp, she thought recklessly.
Glancing up to Alphonse, she was shocked as to why he was hanging around with such a weakling, and then came to the conclusion that the brat must be rich, and the armored giant must be a body guard.
Time went back to normal, and she continued on her run, dodging through the crowd, trying not to drop her spoils.
Edward smirked, watching her run.
"Hey Al, feel like following? Just to see what happens, I mean," he suggested innocently, peering up at his younger brother.
"Brother…. Just what is going though your head?" Alphonse asked, sounding a bit worried and curious as well.
Edward shrugged, and took a few paces, preparing himself to run. "That this seems like a good way to kill time." He took off, in an unexpected burst of speed.
Alphonse watched his older and supposedly more mature brother take off. He sighed, out of exasperation, due to his lack of a body. Not really agreeing with it, he began to run, following as well. Big brother… You're so impulsive!
A/N: Yes, that's it. I was terribly writer-blocked.
