Sasuke had been back in Konoha for a month now, so much had happened.

He embraced the girl he loved so much in one last hug. He had so much to thank her for. If he had never known this girl, if he had never felt this love, he wouldn't know how precious life could be.

If he had never held her, never kissed her, he would have never found the missing part of his self.

This world was so full of rage, and lies, and fear, but now he could see the truth. It was so clear.

"Don't cry Hina-chan." he pulled her back from his dampened chest and wiped away her tears with his thumbs.

"I am so grateful to you. Without you, I would have lived my whole life lost forever."

The girl looked into his onyx eyes, her pearly ones glistening with tears.

"Without you, I'd be safe, overprotected. I wouldn't feel so.. real. I would have never known this love, so strong, so right. I would have lived my whole life lost forever without you.

"I thought our love could have brought unity to Konoha. Some acceptance to your return. But it seems that fear and hate have overpowered that." she bowed her head sniffling.

"But still...my heart says we were right." she smiled at him weakly, tears threatening to fall once more.

"There is not a moment I regret." he smiled lovingly down at her.

"Since the moment we met, even if our time has gone too fast..." he pulled her chin up so that her eyes would meet his.

"I've finally lived at last." he almost whispered as he leaned down into her lips. How soft her lips were. How they made his feelings melt away, and everything feel alright.

She kissed him back, tears now sliding down her cheeks at the thought of ever leaving this moment.

Somehow, she had thought that their love could have brought the darkness into the light. She felt foolish now for ever thinking such thoughts, but for some reason, her heart still told her she was right.

It had been worth the try.
