Disclaimer: Obviously I don't own Naruto
I feel happy yet I'm writing something sad. Why is that?!

Kakashi looked at the grave of his late wife, Kurenai. He held their baby Kanna who was now four months old. From today she died two and a half months. Their baby squirmed in his arms against the cold air trying to get enough warmth. Kakashi held her closer thinking of Kurenai's warm smile and soft hands. He mourned everyday waking up without her touch and her body near him. Placing the bouquet of flowers at the top of the grave marker a single tear stained the top of it. He always told himself not to shed tears for her. The tears would not bring her back. He had never cried for anyone. Sure, some people said he was heartless but Kurenai didn't see that in him. Kurenai saw the kindness and loyalty. He closed his eyes remembering their happy moments: the first time they kissed, when Kakashi proposed to her, they're wedding and the day Kurenai went into labor and out popped their daughter Kanna. He reopened them seeing his students trying to secretly watch him from the trees.

They worried about him. Kakashi would stand there day after day staring at the grave before going to the memorial to honor Obito. The only time he would leave was when Kanna cried for something. The days nights became longer and the days shorter as winter approached but did Kakashi care? Of course not, he wanted to be with his wife. He closed his eyes once more as a tear fell on to the baby's head as Kakashi thought of the faithful day of Kurenai's death:

Kakashi and Kurenai were outnumbered. It was a loosing battle but they fought with their pride and to their best ability. Kurenai was injured and so was Kakashi. He told her to retreat but she stayed put not wanting to leave his side for a moment. To fight to her death was something she was willing to do. Once Kanna was born Kakashi told Kurenai to retire. She wouldn't listen to him, being a shinobi she wanted to die a shinobi. He regretted that he didn't convince her to retire. These thoughts went through Kakashi's mind as he blocked the kunai as they came towards him. He didn't see the second set of kunai that shadowed the first but Kurenai did. She jumped in front of him having several kunai go into her abdomen striking her liver as well as other vital organs and the last one struck her heart. He watched her fall as blood came out of her mouth from internal bleeding. When her body touched the ground Kakashi saw the extent of her wounds. Quickly he picked her up and retreated from the battle field.

He found a secluded area near a beautiful waterfall. Kurenai's blood mixed with his and stained his clothing. He sent her down on the grass carefully removing the kunai as fast as he could but delicate. The blood from her abdomen was a dark almost black red. Kakashi knew he was too late. Kurenai smiled at him weakly say that she loved him and the baby. She took his hand with the last bit of her strength before her eyes went glassy and lifeless she died smiling at him. The beauty of the Waterfall went away becoming a palace of morning.

Kakashi opened his eyes feeling rain drops as well as a small red flower petal fall on his head. Taking it off he thought of Kurenai and her love for flowers, for the first time in a long time Kakashi cried. Kanna looked at him confused yet cold from the weather. Quickly Kakashi dried his tears as he placed the petal on baby Kanna before walking home to his apartment where she used to live. From that day forward he promised Kurenai to never love another woman. His heart locked and the only person who had the key was Kurenai.

Now I feel sad. This is my first time writing an angst story so be gentle.
