A cute Karamel fluffy oneshot I randomly wrote. Set during Season 2. It was so fun writing this, hopefully you guys will havs just as much fun. I hope you guys enjoy!
Mon-El had gotten to know most things on Earth, but there was one thing he just couldn't understand.
He had first heard of it when he saw two teenagers, a boy and a girl, hold hands. His super-hearing picked up the boy whispering, "Baby," to the girl.
He had thought it was strange, until more and more people called each other "Honey", "Sweetie", "Princess", and "Baby".
By the time he watched his eleventh rom-com, and the brunette on the screen called her boyfriend "Honey", curiosity had taken over.
"Kara," he said suddenly.
The blonde glanced up at him. "What is it?"
"Why is everyone saying that people are sweet viscoid substances, sugary, female royalty, or infant?" Mon-El asked.
Kara blinked in confusion. "What?"
The girl on screen hummed, "Whatever you want, baby."
Mon-El almost jumped off the couch in frustration. "See?" he nearly shrieked. "She doesn't even look like she's a toddler!"
Kara looked blankly at him, then at the TV, then at him again. She burst out laughing. "Mon-El, those are called pet names."
"Pet names?" Mon-El repeated in confusion.
"It's special names you sometimes call people when you love them," explained Kara. "It's cute."
"We should have pet names," decided Mon-El, putting his arm around Kara.
Kara smiled as she leaned back on him. "What do you think they should be?"
Mon-El studied her. "Sunshine. I'm gonna call you Sunshine."
The blonde grinned, satisfied with the pet name, and booped his nose. "And I'm gonna call you Donut."
Mon-El laughed. "Why Donut?"
"Because you're sweet and one of the best things that has happened to me," replied Kara earnestly. "Why Sunshine?"
"Because you give me light and the power to become a better person," answered Mon-El.
The blonde didn't know why, but tears began to form in her eyes. "I love you," she whispered.
Mon-El gently kissed the top of her head. "I love you, too, Sunshine."
