Izzie lay next to her lover in his hospital bed. She had no idea if she had dozed off or not, or if he had, but she knew this felt comfortable. This felt right. Denny had asked her before if she believed in karma, she'd told him yes, but now she was certain. They were each others karma for all the bad they had been through in their lives.
She lifted her head off his shoulder and glanced up at his face, he looked asleep, his eyes were closed and he was breathing softly. Izzie burrowed her face back into his shoulder and sighed.
"My McCharming." She whispered.
"What'd you just call me?" Came a drowsy reply from Denny.
"McCharming. I think you need a McName. I mean, Meredith had McDreamy and now her McDog and the McDog's McVet. Then there's McSteamy, I don't think you've met him. It seems like everyone gets a McName, and you deserve one too." She rambled.
"Oh" Denny sighed. "How do you keep all these names straight?"
"Hmm, I guess it's not that hard when you're saying them all the time." She shrugged.
Denny just laughed and pulled her closer.
"So why McCharming? Why not McFunny or McNeeds-a-new-heart?" Denny asked.
"'Cause, you're charming, and I think it sounds better than McFunny. And it has to be positive, so the McNeeds-a-new-heart is out. Plus it's too long."
"Oh, so there's not logic behind this, you just pick it at random?"
"Well, yeah I guess" Izzie huffed.
"So how does this thing work? Am I allowed to give you a McName, or is it just limited to all you interns?"
"You can give me one if you want" Izzie giggled.
"Hmmm, let me think" Denny said. "How 'bout McStalker?"
"Hey, that's not nice!" Izzie laughed, swatting him gently on the chest. "I am not a stalker, I am your doctor."
"Ok, ok. How 'bout McBeautiful?"
"Hmmm" Izzie sighed happily. "Yeah, I think that one will do."
The couple was surrounded by silence again, a comfortable silence. Denny found his mind wandering to when he would finally be out of the hospital, and back at home. Then he could have Izzie in his arms whenever he wanted and they wouldn't have to worry about someone catching them and Izzie getting in trouble. Oh God, he thought, she's probably gonna still call me McCharming after this. I'm stuck with that name forever. He smiled at the thought of having a "pet name", and this one was much better than sweetie or honey.
Izzie lay next to Denny and tried to keep her mind off whether or not Dr. Bailey or someone else was waiting outside the room to yell at her when she left. She wanted nothing more than to lay in his arms forever.
"I gotta go, if someone catches me here, I'm dead." Izzie said, sitting up.
"You'll be back tomorrow, right?" Denny asked.
"Of course I will." She leaned in and kissed him quickly before putting on her shoes and heading for the door. Right before she opened it she turned back to him. "See you tomorrow, my McCharming."
"See you tomorrow, my McBeautiful." Denny replied. He couldn't help but smile as Izzie giggled.
Please r&r, thanks.
